the reality is the trade is both a buy and sell.its an XOFF trade, as was the tuesday one,so it did not take place on a regular market and was most probably over the counter between two parties.one will have bought and one will have sold.you cannot guarantee that the time of reporting was the actual time of trade, but it is recorded by he LSE system as a buy, sell, or unknown (as here)based on the bid/offer sp at time of reporting. the real questions imo are who sold and who bought. was it an existing investor selling down,an existing investor adding, or someone completely new buying in.t he conformity of detail in terms of time and number of shares suggests (very strongly to me ,but thats just my opinion )that the same parties are involved in both trades. time will,or may ,tell

sorry to spoil your fun but there was atrade reported at exactly the same time on the 16th for exactly the same amount.since then of course the s/p has steadily risen. mstrk I'm not suggesting you buy in but do have a look at the facts.look at tuesdays trade and subsequent price action,.not suggesting the same will happen as i don't know,but neither does goldsmith.just make up your own mind which of course you will do.

well mavern i agree that 7 months is a long time to go on aim without some news and that people wii certainly start to take positions as october approaches. like thompi i would be very happy to see positive news in the shorter term.

stevekeegan apologies if I'm stating the obvious,but s/p spikes or uplifts tend to coincide with an RNS.if it is positive the prices goes up. PMEs simply follow on automatically from price movements of sufficient degree.its sensible to look in detail at what these are as there are lots of misconceptions.you can find explanations in various places(again apologies if you know about thee already).prices frequently fall back because people take profits on the spike or because the market has overshot on excessive optimism etc.will thisshappen this week? i have no idea and no one else does either.the only thing i can say is if i knew with certainty i wouldn't tell you or anyone else. lol. good luck if you buy in.

could be either (or something else, or nothing) goldust99. i have always been sceptical of a deal before approval, but i was slightly (just slightly) intrigued by the specific region reference in the last update,which i felt just might indicate something a little more concrete than the usual rather nebulous optimism which tends to accompany these statements. as always only time will tell.

bignose/heimdal im afraid im very firmly in the camp of believers that its the same person.my reasoning is as follows.first alex is a diminutive of alexander.zhavoronkov is referred to as "alexander"in several places,although more commonly as alex.next we know Zhavoronkov is the founder and ceo of insilco ,as well as being the obvious driving intellectual force behind it.in the section on page 26 0f the circular regarding the acquisition, when it sets out the effects of the deal on shareholdings, it shows aleksandrs zavoronkovs as having 17 93% of DLI shares pre acquisition and 3.35% afterwards. now whilst not completely impossible, i don't think it is very likely that someone other than the founder would have that percentage. also alex is not mentioned at all in the list of shareholders affected, which must surely indicate it is the same person. if you google the aleksandrs version you either get nothing ,or the alex version.not conclusive i accept but indicative. we know alex zhavoronkov has stood down as DLI's ceo and taken up the role of DLI's chief longevity officer,so to my mind anything he produces has the potential to impact on DLI, including in a general associated sense, activities by insilco.i agree of course that something produced by insilco which has no relevance to DLI'ssphere of activity wouldn't benefit regent but i am hoping that there may be some overlapping areas which do.i take the point bignose,that the register you have posted would suggest otherwise ,but it may simply be a mindless reproduction of register entries where perhaps historically both versions of the name were give at different times.the extract does i think purport to show former directors. how to account for the differing spelling in the circular?well my guess(and thats all it is) is that the differences result from the translation into english of the Russian cyrillic alphabet,which has caused some corruption.all just my opinion and I'm not trying to be dogmatic at all and happy to be proved wrong (well actually i wouldn't be happy as i hope it is the same person lol) I've no idea what bothwell is referring to (i think it is something on instagram but i cant get on to it on my laptop).i agree it would be very helpful if he could clarify.very probably nothing of any real import of course.

5th october is the FDA action date so agree likely to be fairly quiet until then (or at least until we get closer),unless stifel's appointments presage some other development in the meantime.

HarryCaul i expect you saw that we started yesterday with a DMA on the ask at 200p with (i think) over 93,000 shares. this reduced during the day to about 75,000 the last time i looked. not here today at that figure. not attaching any particular significance to it, just musing.

agree with that bignose.i had orgotten about heimdal's article, which may well have had a bearing. pleased we held and slightly improved on monday's rise.perhaps

beatrootjuice obviously no one on here can answer that ,but if what you are really asking is do we think the s/p is going to improve significantly from here, then i can offer my own opinion that i think it will.i don't know how closely you have been following things (perhaps not very judging by your post) but we have been going through what i think can be fairly described as our most active period for some time. there are a number of potential things that could see a very significant s/p improvement in the medium/long term. no guarantee that things will go the way we hope.but the company is perhaps in a better position than it has been for some time.plenty of problems also potentially(lack of cash perhaps being the main one)but unless it is a monstrously onerous task, if it were me i would do whatever is necessary to put me in a position to deal when i want to.just my opinion of course.

just a small point on the timing of the dli news today. i realise no one has actually suggested it influenced today's trading, so what i am saying his probably superfluous. however i think it probably wasn't announced until after the hk market closed. i looked for it as soon as bignose posted and found it straightaway the item was stated have been posted 35mins ago.so even allowing for the inaccuracy of such timelines it seems it must have come out after the market closed. it wasn't out last night as i checked. could be wrong of course,but what i am hoping is that it might give us a small boost tomorrow.nothing much as its just a suggestion, but looking at some of the responses to being sprinkled with the covid fairy dust (in an investing non pandemic sense) that some shares have experienced, nothing would surprise me. now if regent were to announce they were mining bitcoin then you would really be talking!

dougie im not quite following the first part of your post.cant see what you mean by china announcement today but perhaps I've just misunderstood.so far as i can see the DLI paper (at least as reported in the press) just sets out a schematic for the design of a potential randomised clinical trial for the prevention (reduction or attenuation of effect of covid may perhaps be more accurate) which would use their ageing clocks etc. they refer to randomycin i think as an example of a possible subject as it has been repurposed before for SARS and i assume because of its relevance as a perceived anti ageing drug. they are not proposing to undertake trials themselves.they are a tiny organisation with probably little resources. what will be interesting is to see whether anyone picks up the baton and decides to run with it. not sure if insilco actually do their own trials or just farm out ideas/products, but i think it's the latter, so would presumably need someone completely extraneous.may not come to anything of course, but interesting in that it shows the type of direction they hope to be able to take, i.e. the incorporation of ageing clocks in actual clinical trials.just my take and happy to be corrected.

further the trade is shown in the london stock exchange record as an "XOFF"trade. this mean it was not carried out on a regular market but most probably over the counter between two parties.so looks like one party sold and one bought.we can speculate endlessly as to who what and why,but someone has bought as well as sold.its not mm games or any tosh like that. is it good bad or otherwise i don't know, but we need to see if there are any formal announcements if it has triggered any reporting requirements before reaching any conclusions.
