possibly best not to delve too deeply into the figures,for fear that therein lies madness. lol. for example, does the word "physicians"in the paragraph starting "as a group" refer only to the primary care physicians,i.e. excluding the sexual health specialists, or is it just used generically? if the former, it reduces even further the number endorsing it. personally at this point I'm just going along with the generally positive tone of the announcement and not worrying too much about the precise figures.as so often with these types of announcement, the precise detail may not be absolutely clear and without access to the full survey detail we are not going to get to the bottom of it.i agree the reference to viagra is interesting, if a tad nebulous .seems clearly designed to bolster the positivity level though, so good to see. fortacin as a household name? now that's an interesting thought, but as you suggest,not holding my breath. still nice to have a bit of positive news for a change .doesnt seem to have had much of an impact on the market, as although up a reasonable percent, the volume was still pretty low.

morning bignose.yes quite correct in that we first have to get confirmation of submission,which erp have said is anticipated mid august and then we will have to wait for details of agreed trial.as you say,the number of patients is going to be critical to length of recruitment etc.am i correct in thinking we have never been given any indication of figures? i can't recall any, but i may simply have forgotten. let us hope the fda does take due note of the apparently excellent p2 results and keep things to a minimum.it was bit odd how the china trial number went up considerably from the initial indication.anyway feeling a little more positive today and agree the modest rise is most probably off the back of the fortacin news rather than the venturex position.thanks heimdal for the update.whoever coined the title"diggers and dealers" deserves a medal for encapsulating the very essence of the event in just 3 words.brilliant!

hello dougie.i don't think we have had any specific news which would indicate a lengthening of the FDA timescale,but you've obviously got all the usual caveats regarding speed of recruitment, covid related delays (nothing specific,just generalised delay) and i suppose a history of delayed timescales etc.that said perhaps we will find that if endurance are confident of a commercially successful outcome at the end of the day ,they may have renewed vigour to push matters on as quickly as possible.its still a long process,but first hurdle is going to be news of FDA trial start, hopefully not long away.

and there is more.i had an email on sunday from "the team"referencing a new and snappily entitled article by Zhavoronkov "No shame in wanting to look younger.It is natural and you might as well live younger".the article is really a puff piece for the forthcoming longevity conference,and be honest it's not terribly well written,although that may be down to a translation problem.the title really means that if you try to look younger, you may actually live longer as well. im not posting a link as its a bit superficial imo.also they reference a new lifestyle age survey and a new book by their advisor sergey young (is that really his given surname?). now some of this is good for a laugh on one level, seen as pretentious posturing and self promotion (the covid ageing analysis research is, i think, of a more serious and weighty nature and more deserving of proper recognition),but on another level it is quite encouraging to see a degree of self promotion and publicity activities.not suggesting any of this is going to lead to any income etc in the foreseeable future, but i suppose we simply do not know where any of this is leading and what interest it may be generating amongst other players in the longevity arena.all just my opinion of course and as always my assessments are personal and may be well wide of the mark.

interesting heimdal as i was wondering what the average cost was from the point of view of CGT liability .i thought the average was much higher than current s/p but wasn't sure.it should mean they could dispose of a chunk without an horrendous tax bill, although obviously there would be the usual difficulties of offloading such a large position.

morning bignose.yes it does seem to produce an odd inverse reaction in endurance's s/p/ at this rate we will require another name change to reflect the emphasis on mining in the portfolio lol.

interesting heimdal.was just looking at the VRX s/p.good news in itself, although no impact so far on endurance's s/p. not sure how long they should allow this situation to continue, as it would seem to leave endurance quite exposed to the price of copper i suppose. in other words should they be thinking of generating some cash from the holding? i don't have enough information or understanding of all the implications of the situation to form any meaningful view,but i imagine they must be looking at the situation very closely.

afternoon bignose.not sure how much mellon is involved with seed now. he still has a large shareholding i believe,but i thought he fell out with them a while ago. may be wrong as i don't follow it closely, but just recall some disgruntled comments from PIs when he sold down i think.anyway they are also down today and name change hasn't really helped.thanks heimdal for info on hang seng.hadnt spotted that it was down so much. entirely agree with your comments bignose re the s/p.

and disappointing bignose.we get news of very positive results and down we go! ok, i wasn't expecting much of a bounce as i assumed positive results were largely factored in, but nothing to explain the drop. vrx is holding up well,so i assume its down to the old problem of poor sales expectations. who knows.
