Clearly the thg situation is fundamentally different from bp.here we have a ceo and significant majority shareholder who is manifestly content, and indeed positively anxious to retain the supine allen. just under 20%vote against his re-election last year, but this failed to achieve his removal.it will be interesting to see if a higher vote this year, which i am expecting as the level of dissatisfaction now must surely be even greater than last year, has any effect. one would like to think that a responsible board would take notice if say 25%voted against and feel obligated to take action. i suspect many of us have little confidence that this is likely.

My wife and i have now voted through the HL website against all those resolutions which will indicate dissatisfaction with the corporate governance etc. will be interesting to see how it goes at the agm.

It seems a relatively small placing, so not quite sure why they are doing it.possibly restricted by current authorities,but i haven't tried to check.anyway, good to see the overall portfolio improvement this year. they have some very interesting positions now.

"remaining hopeful"of china approval in q2 does not sound terribly confident to me, but we shall see.

i saw the RSU announcement with some degree of annoyance ,as the supporting wording was extremely irritating in light of the s/p history.like you ,however, my immediate reaction was that the timing is designed to take advantage of china approval perhaps they are more confident than the wording suggests .time will tell.

Kelso's full year results out this morning. basically repeats view that it is significantly undervalued, but they don't offer any detailed recommendations.

Also, those who may have had concerns that the escode sale might not complete, should hopefully be reassured by today's statement that it is on track to complete shortly.
