I think you and 1984 need to agree to disagree.
Those who have invested in solar and bought EVs, that I know, are extremely happy. Others will take a lot more to convince.
1984 has made it clear he is invested in Solg for a takeover based on gold, nothing else, that’s a reasonable stance.
My experience of solar and EVs is generally very good, the savings I’ve made are nuts even allowing for the capital outlay, so much so I invested in a solar farm to take advantage of further savings.
Disappointed I missed the initial opportunities to invest in the wind farms as those investors have made spectacular returns.
There are many reasons why people do and don’t invest in electrification but pretty much everyone here is set on their preferences.
Governments will change the outlook so it is down to us, the consumer, to move with the times, some will move faster than others.
It’s VHS v Betamax…I think 1984 is in the Betamax camp personally 😀 but time will tell
