We have 210 kWh available in EVs plus another 20 in home batteries.

Those with big home storage systems have 60 kWh + it’s only going to expand .

I get you are reticent but I’m sure at the start of the Industrial Revolution people said the same about crew technologies.

I’m not saying we shouldn’t have gas but there are plenty of times during the day when there is a surplus.

That’s why time of use tariffs are handy for those with batteries.

As we discussed earlier California won’t subsidise solar any more because they have an abundance of it when they don’t need it.

Technology will find a solution just as vhs was superseded by DVD’s, however I think your are backing Betamax so you won’t ever get to be superseded

We have agreements with Europe and electric flows both ways to balance out grid and Europes.

We are nowhere near having blackouts, unless we are attacked of course, and would anyone care then about renewables or coal 🤷🏻‍♂️

We have plenty of supply and that gets better every day as the renewable supply increases.

It amazes me posters don’t look into it more but there is a lot of scaremongering in the general media.

If I told you the savings I make you wouldn’t believe it, only quady could comprehend the savings to be made.

I know people who run their house, EVs etc and make £5k+ surplus

Not sure how good an idea it would be to have an energy supply that is war proof.

You say storage would cost trillions, there are 1m EVs on the road with an average of 50 kWh per vehicle possibly a bit more .

That’s 50 GW

The peak electrical demand in the UK in 2022 was 47.1 gigawatts (GW). This was a slight decrease from 2022, when the peak demand was 48.3 GW.

As you can see peak use is dropping because customers can balance the grid.

There are many tools with which to balance the grid pumping out coal doesn’t need to be one of them

There is zero chance of blackouts this winter.

Don’t believe any scaremongering.

Peak use is 4-7pm and octopus customers alone could support any shortfall by exporting during that period.

There have been many sessions to test this over the past 2 years.

Storage will easily sort that issue out.

More problematical is government policy lacking a clear direction either way…….worldwide

Remember the recent $10m loan Solg announced recently.

Poor old Jack refused to believe Addicknt company house research providing the charge secured for the loan and tried to portray the loan as a gift to Solg for exclusivity to buy Solg. You couldn’t make this 💩 up but BBG does on a regular basis.
