All the money, time, R&D spent on these systems should see a standardisation across all models iam hoping.

Merc, BMW, Ford should see their designs in all models as the new ones launch.

Be interesting to SEE if the Bronco as an off road model has the hands free driving? Iam not sure as its use is off road?

If it has then thats a good sign that Ford will put in all models.

The S-Class itself will understand your intention, and set the correct mirror accordingly. It’s part of a greater focus on usability that, Mercedes execs say, existing S-Class owners have been asking for. Part of the automaker’s response to that is making the multiple systems in the car work more cohesively. The long-term safety-first future that I see for the auto industry is a human/machine collaboration: Humans responsible for the driving task, with machines backing them up firstly by monitoring for distraction and fatigue; and secondly by providing longitudinal and lateral assistance to correct for minor control errors, in the form of automated braking and lane-keeping systems.

Thus, driver monitoring systems and ADAS look to be the future, as legislation already passed in Europe and currently passing through Congress would suggest. Expect to see AV technology adopted in slower, simpler, closed-campus applications many years, and probably even decades, before it is tested and validated for safe use in privately-owned passenger vehicles on public roads.

Kary Schaefer, general manager of product strategy and marketing for Daimler Trucks North America, discussed the evolution of commercial vehicle safety technologies during a General Session of the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) Safety and Security Conference. The 39th annual conference, held June 23-25, has been offered to attendees virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The integration of camera technology will help to improve driver skills through monitoring and coaching, reduce driver-initiated crashes, reduce idling and help lower insurance costs, Schaefer advised. With this technology integrated, camera systems monitoring drivers could respond to drowsiness or driver distractions through active intervention systems.

Schaefer expects camera technology to advance to the point where driver-facing cameras will be integrated into the safety systems, in addition to surrounded view cameras and backup cameras integrated into commercial vehicle safety systems as well.

Passenger car registrations increased by 1.2% to 233,818 in June compared with the same month last year, according to figures published Wednesday by industry group CCFA. It was the first gain since December, before the outbreak forced shutdowns of factories and dealerships across Europe.

While U.S. consumer demand for new vehicles has rebounded surprisingly quickly despite the economic ravages wrought by COVID-19, fleet sales to rental car companies, corporations and government agencies have dragged overall sales down. Recovery for those sales is expected to be slow, while the future of the rental car industry is uncertain.
Hyundai said that while its overall sales fell 22% in June, sales to consumers rose 6% versus June 2019, while its fleet sales plummeted 93%. Luxury subsidiary Genesis reported a nearly 25% drop compared to last June, but said customers are coming back; its flagship G90 executive sedan is beating its 2019 sales performance through June

You have to remember showrooms only started opening up again in June. Most over 65s that are a big slice of the market are still on quarantine Til end July yet uk still sold 145,000 in June. Yes down a third from previous for which you would expect.

China was up 14% to 2.3 million so it shows recovering virus countries are doing ok.

When’s our 1st cars get sold anyway? Not Til later this year at the earliest so 2019 sales figures don’t affect us on the whole.
