It typically attracts 900 attendees from 50 plus countries all focused on best training practices. EATS allows over 48 hours of intense networking and information exchange with a very high quality audience

At this point (August 7, 2021) we are again facing challenges from covid, this time the D variant, and border/travel restrictions remain in force, none the less and in evidence of the WATS meeting in June we expect at least two thirds of the usual attendance and we already have over 50 exhibitors on the floorplan.

Non-technical competencies are very difficult for instructors to assess. Solution of Training Aircrew Competency using Eye Tracking (TACET) tackles this problem by using Tobii eye tracking technology integrated into simulated Virtual Reality training scenarios. The system gives insight into the cognitive, psychological, and behavioral processes that underpin trainee performance and enables the covert and autonomous assessment of trainee competency.

In this talk, we discussed the development processes involved in creating such solutions, explored the scientific rationale for using eye tracking to index competency, and presented results from some initial testing and validation of the system.

FRANKFURT (BLOOMBERG) - BMW's better handling of the chip shortage has turned the tables on the global luxury sales race, positioning the company to overtake its arch-rival for the first time since 2015.

The carmaker delivered 1.7 million of its namesake branded vehicles in the first nine months of the year, exceeding Daimler's Mercedes-Benz by more than 112,000 cars and sport utility vehicles. BMW extended its lead in the third quarter by limiting its deliveries decline to 10 per cent, whereas Mercedes posted a 30 per cent plunge.

The two German icons are among the carmakers being affected by recent factory shutdowns in Malaysia, a key hub for semiconductor packaging and testing. But BMW managed to hold out longer than most of its peers before having to pause production due to the supply squeeze. Back in January, the company said it placed orders on time for the amount of chips it needed for the year and expected its suppliers to deliver.

Fleet management technology developer Eroad has entered an agreement to acquire New Zealand peer Coretex Ltd. in a transaction valued at $157 million. The deal advances an Eroad goal of 250,000 truck installations and greater presence in North America and Australia. The combined organization will strengthen its position in North America as a significant supplier of in vehicle fleet management, dashcams and trailer telematics.

Transport software company ERoad has doubled its profit through an increase in sales of its units and increased revenue from existing subscribers.
ERoad offers devices and software used by transport companies to track driving hours and maintenance as well as health and safety compliance issues.

Chief executive Steven Newman said the company's key markets in New Zealand and North America were rebounding from the pandemic, which had given a spur to business.

"We accelerated our growth strategies to take better advantage of opportunities that have emerged from the challenges of the last 12 months. ERoad is now stronger than ever before, better positioned to capture the increasing growth opportunities in telematics."

Revenue rose 13 percent to $91.6m, with two-thirds coming from New Zealand and most of the rest from the United States.
