@samolly2 I don’t ever tell anyone to buy, sell or otherwise recommend any investment advice. They’re are as credible a company as any other and they have a novel approach based on credible science. That doesn’t mean they’ll be successful but they could be.

@fb88 COVI-SHIELD is a mixture of three antibodies that recognise three specific regions of the SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein. Testing so far have been lab based so we’re still in a wait and see I guess

@scart, that would be the smart thing to do, the PCR test is the same so the same reagents should be able to be used unless there's some physical constraint. The beads from the photographs look really robust because you see them 'pouring' them on too a tray (for visual inspection?) that means they could be pick and placed into cartridges as they are into tubes and plates. Neat.

nice post @Whispe3rs, I agree with your assessment on the different groups. Likely those who bought in very low will make a profit if they haven't already top sliced I'd be surprised, for us LTHs there will be the majority who averaged down in the hope the drug would find a home, that seems to me to have now be a lost cause as I believe that IP belongs to Hercules in reality, so then for me I have an average of 5p and I am interested to see if I recoup some of those losses. On my original investment I am 95% down, about £25k. A lot of people lost out and I believe the Company miss-managed the approvals or at least the risks around liver toxicity. But that story is long gone and we are now an RTO play and I'm a little out of my depth as to how to value that going forward.

R&D tax losses are either 25% as a 'cash back' element or 100% against profits. So the value IF there are losses to be carried forward in the shell, would depend on the business taking it over. If they are profitable then it could be more significant if they are in the same line. t|If not profitable the losses can be carried forward until they are. So it could be interesting. The closing of the Inc could have losses associated with them for the UK plc...

I notice that some of the shareholders also represent other unlisted Pharma companies, so one of these could benefit in this type off transaction.

@scart, I agree the information is wrong. Unless they've picked up something around timing we don't yet know the POC test is expected to be available end of the year. I suspect it will be a lot sooner than this if the same reagent beads that are being used for their high throughput test can be used in the Genedrive POC device. That should significantly increase pace imo.

Really exciting times indeed, expect CE-IVD and other approval update next week and possibly a commercial update too imo, possibly an update in Genedrive POC availability.

@safy the account has been verified by LSE, ie the email account attached to the account and verification must have been via David's Genedrive account.

The timing after hours on Friday afternoon was interesting and important I think. Next week should bring with it some further news and there is optimism which in these times I welcome.

As a LTH I value the respect and tone shown in the post. I wish others would learn be nicer in the tone of their email and not dig at others. Come on everyone don't criticise others, by all means discuss the business, the strategy, the risks, the rewards, but steer clear of personal insults.

Scart, I agree, the rise not due to the publication but the publication nice to see and backs up previous 100% concordant studies for the POC HCV Genedrive system

CONCLUSION:
This study demonstrates that Genedrive HCV ID kit can be used for decentralised testing of HCV and ultimately finding the missing million.

I can find no decent publications on the performance of Randox's platform in real world use. Yes they use the term 'game-changing' to describe their platform in the same way Abbott did. Surely you gather your performance data before you market your test. Well done Genedrive for taking the moral high ground.
