Always, there are two aspects I guess, perception and reality. The perception is that AVCT are racing ahead and that may well impact share price based on the noise it creates, the reality is what will build long term value and this is where I believe GDR will shine. I am test to see any AVCT data from their previous forays in the diagnostics space that says that they can produce a sensitive test. Any publications suggest their sensitivity ultimately falls into the same 60-80% range that antibody based tests do. That's not down to how specific the affirmers are (I believe that they are really specific), but its down to the detection side of what essentially is still an ELISA type test. They simply don't cut the mustard for infectious disease diagnostics. I've read pretty much all of their publications now.

Agree Clairesmith, they seem to have lost their way a little over recent months, not because what they have isn't ground breaking or needed in this exciting and emerging market, simply lack of focus from their CEO I think.

I have a relatively large holding and have held since the end of 2018 so I firmly believe this will come good. But the CEO needs to make more noise in what is a well covered market opportunity with few tradable companies particularly in the UK. Come on, bang some drums!

part of the problem in the diagnostics sector has been lack of investment, exactly because of the shear volume of 'smoke and mirrors' over the past decades. Plenty of new things 'coming soon' based on 'wishful thinking' but fortunately Genedrive has been developed and proven in the market now with 4 commercial tests, each with proven high sensitivity and good clinical (published) performance.

It's based on LAMP which has historically be shown to be insensitive like the Abbott platform. Don't get me wrong, LAMP has its place, but the Abbott debacle showing it missed 10-60% of low infections shows that isothermal is not suitable here. RT-qPCR all the way for me!

Certainly Genedrive needs better press coverage and when I see the coverage from other companies that are yet to deliver even the underlying technology into a commercial product I do wonder why Genedrive doesn't get more coverage.

When ready this will be the first scalable pre-dosed RT-qPCR test capable of being manufactured at large volume to service world wide demand. It uses a novel UK developed chemistry and can be used on the Genedrive POC platform as well as in larger labs.

I should hope it would be in the press but Genedrive historically has kept its light hidden. Maybe this is the time to let it shine!

sam, your chance to buy the dips if they happen if the market is bored of waiting. But honestly, this is being developed properly and as quickly as possible whilst maintaining the integrity of the process to the product when ready will be solid.

Longrun... I think there is a lot of noise out there, GDR are doing this correctly and to the highest standard. There are a number of diagnostic tests proving to be inaccurate and insensitive. This is because they were not designed properly and the designs were not tested properly. Be patient, GDR have given expected dates and have not failed to deliver to the times they have posted. In the meantime don't believe that commercial discussions are not being done in parallel.

samolly2, in my opinion there has been a woeful display of poor science by organisations who have risked to get something out only to find out it didn't work as well as expected. I include Abbott in this list which is surprising. GDR are writing their CE-IVD documentation for submission, I suspect its already submitted based on the LinkedIn post the other day. It is now a process for MHRA to approve the documentation and approve the test under CE-IVD. It's not in Genedrive's control. They won't announce submission, they'll announce grant - at least that's my opinion. Should be this week hopefully.

There is always a buyer for the sells, from the size of trades I would say this is both retail and private interest. On balance the share price has been supported at these levels and when news of further progress drops we should see this rise again. Clearly the MCs of some in this space don't reflect reality, but the underlying opportunities for Genedrive I believe support a MC north of where it is currently. Others must agree, hence the shares being snapped up regardless of 'size'

We have to be very careful with the language being used by ministers here. When they say mobile testing they really mean mobile collection; as of today there is no testing done at the point of collection, all samples are sent back to the lab and take 2-3 days for results to come back.

Genedrive will have a part to play in the existing lab based testing, but should also allow true mobile testing of samples at the point of collection.

The big change that will make lockdown easing a reality is more testing of asymptomatic people. At the moment testing is restricted to individuals who have symptoms. But up to 60% of infected individuals are asymptomatic, so most spend is from these groups who are unaware they have the virus. When that penny drops the level of testing will shoot through the roof.

China locking down another city today, Germany seeing a rise in cases after lockdown restrictions eased, and still thousands of new cases a day in the UK and most other countries.... this is not going away anytime soon.

@marve completely agree, and just look at the large trades today, it can only really be an institutional buyer picking up £1.5m of shares at a time, the demand remains high from both retail and institutional investors who like us see an up side from these modest levels.

never dropped below 140 really, it may have been in the 135 rage but nobody could buy any. I sold some at 150 thinking I could get back in at 100-120, no chance. caught out by thinking I could read the sentiment, got it wrong.

My guess is we will see an RNS on CE-IVD with a reference to expected FDA process later this week closely followed by a commercial partnering update for UK, EU and Asia...

I agree, the size of these trades shows someone is building a position and happy to take a lot at these prices, selling may be reflective of the gain already in the price and specific rules around gain and risk

With such large trades someone is building a position, expect TR1's both ways

according to most people on here the selling has already happened because people already held stock so would not have waited and simply sold stock they already had to cover the difference. So my guess is no, if they were to take profits they already would have. You could not get placing shares unless you were already a holder.

Will probably find our big markets are outside of the U.K. as we really haven’t got our act together unfortunately. When we were told PHE we evaluating tests it seems like they were twiddling their thumbs.
