The issue for Starmer is was he DPP at the time , did he know and what did he do? So is he covering up a scandal that will rock labour to its core and also implicate himself? Jungle, why should any investors worry about a consolidation, in your example if we have 12 shares as a remainder from the process , we would lose about 70p but we won't because as stated by ntl the surplus get sold and we get the proceeds. In all events this is peanuts.

Johnjo, ref Regis - the market do not yet have confidence in him because of his surprises on profits - as it happens I don't think they liked his predecessor for other reasons.

Ref expansion into the states and eu - that has been underway for about a decade bu the worry is that the rate has increased just at a time when retail is entering a soft spot imv.

For me the bigger concern is the margin hit from Hibbet integration .

However , while the company keeps producing profits of around £1bn , and hopefully growing the sp is underpinned. Signs that the expansion is paying off and the sp will rise significantly imv.

I went in 4 stores yesterday; JD was packed with people queueing in a zig zag arrangement , Uniqlo and next where it was steady and superdry where the 3 staff outnumbered the 2 customers.

From that limited survey I don't think we have much to worry about as far as UK is concerned .

Ref discounts - Uniqlo seemed to have the least discounted and the other stores about the same amount looking at the number of 'racks'.

Just waiting for the closing down sale at Superdry.

Interesting announcement from Wizz today , which I read as ' we are totally fed up with our engine supplier and will be buying elsewhere'.

On December 31st, Wizz Air and Pratt & Whitney announced that they had agreed compensation terms related to those aircraft grounded due to issues with P&W's GTF engine.

- Broader negotiations on engine selection remain ongoing as Wizz continues to seek the most cost-efficient engine decision for its future.

Risey, I disagree - it was easy to get into the property market until the mid 1980s. I bought my first house, 3 bedrooms with a garage at age 22 with a mortgage at 2.75x salary and tiny deposit.

The two biggest changes over the last 40 or so years , that have made it harder are the multiples that lenders use , i.e considering both salaries and using 4x and the increased demand caused by mass immigration. The government are to blame for both imv.

Johnjo, It does'nt need a miracle for this share to reach 125p plus it just needs a trading update that meets or exceeds the epectations set in the last update and a confident view about the future based around integration of hibbett - where the lower margins will impact the group overall margins. If they can outline the future with the competence that nxt display all will be good here. IMV worse outcome already in the price.
