Disco, from what you know about FL, what are they doing poorly that JD are doing well? I.e why are they experiencing falling sales when JD is growing strongly?

Claire, the explanation for Mike Ashley increasing his holding is that this company would fit nicely into his portfolio of 'better brands [than sports direct] ' which is the groups stated aim. He can longer term bid or realise a profit on the bargain basement price - win win for him imv.

Alessandro - yes I believe so and the ceo said market share is less than 5% in USA - so lots more to go for.

Part of the cause of the demise of FootLocker is the success of JD, where only yesterday sales in q1 were plus 15% . Drop here overdone and I have bought another £9k. Cool heads will return soon imv.

Great day yesterday - offloaded a few - expecting further gains today in light of US debt news.

Anyone, it is not just the hope of a bid but the cash we will recieve for our edg shares and most importantly the impetus the new operator will bring to developing the asset at full speed.

I think Kevin's posts are some of the best , non technical posts on this board - his 'script'seems to be based on a wise interpretation of what is going on just now and I think he is the author.

Culpepper, that would reward failure - the option price was linked to the sp when SD took the job - he has to be accountable and if he does not like what he signed up to he should walk imv.

Miln, wrt the gas connection , it will be a simple economic exercise to determine whether it is better to stay with exporting electricty to that network or investing in a pipeline to export gas , which attracts a lower price per kwhr - either option is feasible and I thought both were in hand.

I think Heyco will become the operator of Wressle and given the need to get a return on its investment will plough ahead at full speed with increasing its output - really good news for us.

The change in structure , splitting the ceo and chairman role along with governance issue was said to be holding this back but their resolution has had zero positive effect and it seems to me the city folk are snobby and just dont like the company or its products.

Bought another £3.5k - my thinking is that this is trading at a significant discount to the likes of Next when it should be at a premium on account of its global reach and growth plans. Maybe the analysts will realise that there is more to life balenciaga !
