RE: Buys or sells as votes of confidence in Ed?29 Jan 2025 07:28
Longlad - the way I see it is I have two choices: (a) sit here and wait for the SP to recover. The last 12 months at the very least show what happens - nothing. No gain. There may be a speculative bounce but no change in the fundamentals. There is nothing dynamic about Ed or Pascual. They may buy a stake somewhere, which may pay off, but that will only pay off in two years minimum. In the meantime, the cash pile dwindles. The market will view Ed and Alfredo the same way, so there is a real risk that any gain isn't reflected in SP (b) accept the loss. Stick the money elsewhere. I think the AI bubble may have been and gone for the moment, so day trading on that front won't get me the 50% - 100% gains that I need (that I was looking at with Sealand and FINU etc). But there are other stocks out there which at the very least, have phenomenal prospects compared to SEED. SEED may have 3% or whatever in LGP and CFG, but that doesn't translate to much, even with a 50%-100% gain. I've time on my hands for a few weeks so can afford to spend more time here, so this is a good time to abandon ship for me and look for opportunities elsewhere - a quick look at major risers every day shows there are winners out there - primarily identified by RNS first thing in the morning. SEED ain't going anywhere, mostly because the two key members of the board, Ed and Alfredo are so ineffectual. I can't help but think that the energy they have dispensed to building the company reminds me of cheech and chong, spliff heads, enjoying a smoke to dissipate away the responsibility they have. Current SP, so far below NAV, seems to reflect that maybe the feeling about them runs much, much deeper. I wish you luck. Best thing is SEED winds up completely, but again, I can only imagine a 3p-4p return max. If you do get more, then that's good. But I'm betting it is easier to get that and more by actively managing your funds elsewhere. Anyway, I wish you the best, whatever you choose.
