The current sp reflects the fact that we are gambling on the outcome of the Sami Appeal....if the Supreme Court overturns the Government's decision to award the Exploitation Licence then we are finished in Sweden and the only chance of recovering anything would be from Finland or Kosovo. Kurt said he would keep us informed but clearly there wasn't anything he could tell us about it...all we know is we think it will be heard around September and that from Andy. And the Sami are appealing against the Government's decision not directly against Beowulf. It's never a short process, is it, like all public enquiries, people have forgotten what they're about by the time a decision is made. Until then it's work in progress and I'm satisfied with it.

Morning Eric. You asked about submitting evidence for the Appeal...well, I don't know...but there must be rules and it must have a legal basis; they have a time to submit their case and in this case they were given two extensions so I would assume that's it.

Eric...They already had two extensions and they weren't given any more.

Well. it depends on what you mean by maximising the Award...it was after all only halfway there..the Environmental Licence would be maximising the Award in my opinion and I believe we're nearly there. When it gets too bumpy, shut your eyes. :-)

Andy has explained that it isn't the decision itself that the Court will consider, it's how they arrived at it, did they follow the correct procedure. Well, they took long enough about it, nine years of deliberation should serve well enough and everybody concerned got plenty chance and time to state their case.

Now of course we have to wait on the Sami Appeal...what will the Court decide?

But they did deny it and the legality of it is seems to be a bit of a grey area, certainly lacks the transparency it should have... and it seems to me they were allowed to make a judgement in the national interest and we know which judgement the MP would have made because they said so.

And worse...we could have been denied the Concession, it was within their power...we could have failed to raise enough money to carry on but we didn't, thanks to those people who continued to have a bit of faith in it.

Keeping this show on the road for twelve years has taken a bit of doing.

The way I see it, Eric...is the trouble with the structured plan is that it is what it is...getting the environmental permit. It was always going to take two years at least, we've always known that and that there were possible options, a sale or a JV. Any joint venture of course remains the big mystery....and I'm inclined toward Aug's assessment of it. And there's been the politics...it was good fortune for us that the Greens fell out with the SD...but it should never have happened. And still big risks to be overcome.

The problem I imagine for investors is time...they can use their money elsewhere or they think they can while the work is being done here. Just my take on it. People definitely want some good news..I think the news about the decision to invest in the Inlandsbanan was pretty good...didn't affect the sp because it's future stuff and we want it now. Suffering as we are for having hung around for twelve years.

Afty Eric. Am I being over optimistic when I say the last mile tends to be the hardest? Production in 2026...can we do it, can we do it, can we do it? The ducks do seem to be lining up.
