I really not sure you can take anything Goldman or others say as gospel!!!

They can set any target they like but there is only one price that matters and that is currently 197 and under pressure

That's a fair summary Wildcat, I'll be waiting for the right entry point after the issue details and next weeks results and accompanying plan etc

Sadly I suspect it will be closer to 167 than 197 but more than happy to be wrong

True Hubster but when that article was written the price was 271 so hard to suggest investors have ignored the risk!

That's how I see it Blue light, results and plan are the next key moment and too much like a gamble for me so will await new entry point... no problem if its higher!

As for GS or any analyst recommendations I pretty much ignore them

I got out at 199, had a stop in place at 195 anyway but saw the news break on Bloomberg and decided on the spot to sell my 33k shares
My average was 211 so a 3.5k loss but happy to have made the decision rather than watch a big loss happen

Tbh I struggle to analyse rights issues, it could end up being positive but I suspect there will be another chance to enter in the coming months

I am sure IAG will recover but the risk profile and timing just altered for me

I was able to buy 20k share in 2 lots of 10k via HL (took a fair number of re quotes)
Paid 169 and 171
Average now 140 so fingers crossed this is as good as we hope

Not quite as bad as analyst projections, pretty much level in after hours trading

He is basically saying that America will save the world by producing a vaccine..... The US military is on standby apparently....... it wasn't entirely clear if he meant to distribute the US vaccine that will beat the China virus or to invade China or Russia or a random Caribbean island that was acting a little too Socialist

The Donald is being tested daily, sometimes more, again it is not clear what for..... insanity I assume but they probably check for Covid at the same time

This is exactly the reason why "our" solution is so good, low cost (relatively), low risk etc
The virus is here to stay and we need to learn how to control it and live with it as we do with every "risk" in life, medical or otherwise.

That was interesting and slightly painful to watch!
What it highlighted to me is these are not sales guys (I am!) and they made, what we assume is, a fantastic and game changing development sound rather dull .

Of-course that's exactly what you would hope for from scientists and serious medical researchers but you did rather get the impression that the press were hoping for a simple, 100% guaranteed silver bullet that not only cures Covid but also cancer and England' ability to win a semi final at the World Cup or Euros....when they didn't get that they sounded a little disappointed and the share price seemed to be affected

Not sure if that conference actually helped or hindered but presumably there are people in governments and health services who will know if this is as good as we all hope

200 could well be broken today sadly, will fall back to 180 I imagine if resistance and stops taken out

There are some seriously miserable people in this world.

The idea that the FTSE will contract by 75% because of Brexit is staggering! I'm not sure you actually understand what that implies and is symptomatic of the negative, woke, virtue signalling which is causing so much damage across the globe these days.

its been going down due to a small global pandemic! What people are doing is looking for companies that can recover from this setback...ie those that previously generated large profits and were well run...IAG at 1/3 of its pre-covid market cap could well fit this. It's going to drift for a while as this is now very much news driven and could indeed go down again but in the medium term I believe it's a solid recovery play.

By contrast, your national airline (well the one you have to share with the French) makes far less profit and stays afloat due to questionably illegal state aid

it's actually holding around the 230 level but hey, let's not have facts get in the way of a good story :)

UK travellers already have to go through passport control in the EU (that whole Schengen thing!) so Brexit has minimal impact

Sure, the unlimited right to live and work (isn't quite as simple as that in some countries anyway will affect some travel but the real driver is overall economic activity and wealth which leads to more business and leisure travel. This year is a write off but ultimately markets look forward
