No reason to delay the update and be non committal as to when it will be published. The bad news on production is public knowledge so no point in trying to mitigate it with some positivity - just look at the SP graph for January. Damage already done.

The radio silence on the trading update is absolutely appalling. If you ever want to know how not to come up with a communications strategy, get a copy of Tullow's (if they have one). It has compounded the uncertainty around the company for no good reason. Whatever the bad news is, get it out - the price will go down anyways.

How about Kenya FDP approval being announced, and Rahul's swansong before he wanders into the sunset - we live in hope :)

Yes it is now, but many who left Tullow had years of direct experience of the complexities of Ten/Jubilee that o/s contractors couldn't possibly replicate. Anyway, all I know is when I see Roald Goethe selling Tlw shares I'm running for the hills. Just don't understand his logic!

Tlw has undergone a major downsizing over the last 4 - 5 years. During that time it has probably lost a significant amount of its expertise, particularly technical expertise. The best people in a company typically take redundancy or leave because they can easily get a better job in a better company elsewhere. With all due respect to existing technical people in Tlw, why would you stay in a company that has been mired in problems both financial and non-financial. Maybe this explains in part, the poor return on the millions spent on drilling. Rahul reduced the number of employees alright, but what caliber of people left the company?

Android no offence, only banter :) RG has been buying Tlw from 36p down to 23p. Catching a falling knife or does he know something? I've no idea, but what I do Know is that Rahul has never in 4.5 years, surprised to the upside so I wouldn't count on him reversing that just after he was booted out.

Well Android, take a bow. The most optimistic poster on this board. I think a dividend is the last thing on the Tlw boards mind. 2025 not 2024

Stifel has downgraded the 25 bonds from buy to hold - makes complete sense. They went from trading @84p after Rahul rns then Kosmos rns, to 94p currently. Roald Goethe took advantage and the opportunity is now less attractive. On the consent solicitation issue, Tlw are probably "asking the question" (and why wouldn't they just before maturity). Don't know what all the nervousness is. I'd be more concerned as to what Tlw said to make Stifel comfortable with there forecast of 59k per day for 2025.

Unless something has changed, they have the money to pay off the 2025 bonds. Maybe looking to conserve cash?

Didn't know that Delonex (company founded by RD) had involvement in Lokichar and was in dispute with local communities. Is this part of the missing pieces of the jigsaw??
