Just to let one and all know I have written in to the Company and asked them if we may get anything more positive coming out from them in support of the govt. scheme or if they intend to extend it due to good business, or if there is any other news. If I receive anything that is Marstons related (if we here nothing in the meantime) I will keep the board posted.

I am confused by your posts when you refer to long time holder of share I suspect a couple of weeks? When you refer to you have been lucky settling an HMRC Capital gain - you then insult me for needing an accountant? You are right on one thing from what you have said I am perhaps a lot younger than you, and was lucky to have made my own mint early to retire when most of my peers were told by St. james place to invest in GBP related investments and I only gave that 5% with the rest in USA and the Far Eastern economies - so maybe i was lucky too? However remember I do not just hold one of two shares I have a broad spread across the whole market at the moment particularly the precious metals one. You should try it sometime, or buy a tracker.
Errh what with the USD falling what will happen to previous metals prices? You may need to ring your accountant but I am doing very well there.

The whole market sentiment is down today especially the banks which has had an effect on administrators such as Capita. However I understand many large fund managers may be thinking about coming over here to start hunting out shares with great future potential so look at our price later when the NYSE boys are open. The USA boys have been conducting the sort of research and re-development that Capita are proposing for years. They will look at Capita's re-structuring positively I am sure. Sometimes if a Company has received an approach from another the opportunity may come for a merger or takeover on reduced staff and office levels too - so watch this space?

Why is this? Shell like everyone else can only survive if they find an alternative to the natural resources that no one wants anymore. The price of oil should tell anyone with an ounce of intelligence this. Shell are very late to the Renewables market and their windmills should stick to producing grain. In ten years time we will all most likely be driving electric cars and no one will need Shell and they know it.
For Marstons I have a feeling everyone still be drinking beer - and the entry point for many will bring results. Nothing like your energy Companies at all.

& what an expert he turns out to be in that if you pay 50% tax on earnings you loose half to the govt straight away based on income which is why most people I know call it with excess supply of oil and gas "ROYAL DITCH SELL" - end of Sept last yr they were 24GBP a share now falling fast and down to £10 shortly to fall further. You were right the first time let him continue to support his own energy which is lost on me. I'd rather go for capital growth and not income and loss of Capital.

Hi BC-I am sorry for the staff but I am afraid been there myself and it is a hard but essential requirement when the business was losing money the management team will have a team of accountants advising them. The strange thing is seeing a Company making announcements and then the share price rises as a result of savings being made to costs. So from my own point of view as a shareholder we should see some gains -but I still feel for the people losing their jobs. Although hopefully many can renegotiate their contracts and work from home where they can also make savings on season tickets, suits, expensive lunches in the City, etc. and the loss to them can be mitigated to some extent. He only appears strangely when the Marstons share price rises and we have had that for the past three or four days so he has to try and pull the price down. Just ignore him -not worth your time. He invests in the Oil and energy industries at the moment - who would do that when most have moved out into the precious metals market and have made a fortune. Certainly not worth mine. I can see us getting off to a good start next week as the no. of deaths from Covid in the Uk reduced to just one poor old person yesterday and the avge for the past week was only ten. So in a Country of over 60 Million the no. now is insignificant and clearly the pubs re-opening has certainly not caused additional concerns. In fact I wonder if Beer helps reduce the virus?

If they do this right and staff can work from home their costs will longer term reduce significantly and this Company will become very profitable. I see the share price here recovery now quite quickly. The Management clearly mean business and are getting on with it. I did say the other day they had some very good first rate top Management who do not muck about. This is going to be one of the best recovery stocks in my opinion. They should come out of portfolios holding high value in property/office rents/City projects which will take a real hit as Companies find they can work from home as many offices will become empty, and start to lose value. Investing at the current time in the precious metals market (such as HOC, and Centamin, the miners - is a sensible thing to do in my own opinion.

You have to say the Capita management team have worked very fast to reduce costs and that is regrettable for the people if any are lost, and I also heard perhaps 35% will be. To be honest it brings back memories for me when I worked in the City what a hard life it can be sometimes but lets also be honest Capita have to do it to be back in profit, as will many other Companies. Most have disbanded the fears from working from home and have shown it can work. The City will actually see all of this as a positive thing for Capita and we should see the share price rise as a turnaround is being considered seriously.

Actually Directive 22 what you suggested earlier about the taking of Holiday instead of building up accruals is an offer currently being put out to staff according to The Times business section, and this it is felt will significantly reduce the provision set aside recently reported by the Company. So it was a good idea that your Company is doing and one being adopted by Capita as well. It is not just Capita that could think of alternative ways of working - even Nat West have been telling their staff to continue working at home for sometime yet according to reports. Suppose this makes sense in the circumstances and the new world we now live.

Once Covid19 is out of the way, as Capita run the NHS outpatients appointments systems and as the Govt will want to get back to reducing the queues for other illnesses such as Cancer in fact more staff could be employed by Capita to work from home if the Govt. bonuses come their way. Watch this space.

On fact having worked myself for 37 years in the smoke I know the price of office rental space was excessive. However so many offices will be empty after lock down I would also be renegotiating all of my London office rental expenses. Massive savings can be had here for Capita. In fact I know one owner of a private investment house employing 1,000 people in the Croydon area that has doubts his office could survive before lock down but now feels he can actually have staff working from home and move out to a much smaller office. A good opportunity to reexamine in my opinion office costs which in some cases are actually worth more to a Company than staff savings. Sorry Solar this Company share will rise in my opinion.
