Barrick through the recently acquired Acacia Gold now have interests on the West side of Africa and are in Burkina Faso as well as CEY and so Barrick are not stupid and if Mark Bristow sees an opportunity for economy of scale- he usually takes it.

Found this for the Centamin board - As they are in Burkina Faso as well as the new found Barrick Interests from Acacia. Could it be Barrick are the predator? I have bought in to CEY - Centamin as well which could prove interesting now the CEO has gone.

I can now see purchasing the rare earths find really makes sense, and what an astute purchase by Eduardo Hochschild. As I say he knows his onions!!
The start of the turnaround in our price too today. A small step etc. Long may it continue.

JG- I suppose you could be right, but I will also watch sterling as if she comes up it is true that Hoc has followed in recent years and so it could the reversal if the local currency has fallen we may earn less I suppose. I am sure all this is cyclical so I will just wait and hope we recover sooner rather than later.

The only strange thing I have noticed in recent years with Hochschild is when the price of sterling is rising so does HOC, which is interesting as most of the other miners have benefitted with sterling falling and the USD rising? Perhaps with the bad news for Boris and sterling falling this has had an impact. Once sterling turns we could be in for a treat. I see Brandywine are predicting sterling coming back to £1.5 to a dollar very quickly after Brexit. So I am holding in expectation.

I just do not understand the current blip in share price when one considers the Silver price (their main commodity that is produce is up 28% converted into GBP for the year. .

Gold back over USD1500oz and US job numbers very poor. Most now suspect a Fed cut very soon which will push Gold/Silver up towards Usd1600oz. True also that sometimes the CEO's retire or step aside for some action they do not agree with such as a takeover. I presume he has still kept his share options!!!? Time will tell but I am sure this is a blip in price.

He is no fool and a very wealthy man, he could have paid for the Usd56m for the precious earths out of his back pocket. I also see this as a great buy. Yep see that the miners have recently taken a hit but Gold is back rising again. Tonight we are now well over Usd1500 and you are right it wouldn't take much now for a another Fed cut. Maybe Trump was right afterall. I am sure once the Fed cuts Gold/Silver will rise back to Usd1550 and perhaps toward your Usd1600. I still do not have my Barrick's from HSBC they have a problem with dealing in Canada and so no doubt they will swap the CAD shares for USD ones. Also not sure when we will get the promised extra Golden divi, or what it will be.

Rare earths awards given to Hoc. RNS out today will make this an interesting investment for the manufacture of electric cars, etc.

Gold back up to Usd1480 and rising fast, World stocks falling as we expected.

I like you will soon see the miners coming back, I do not understand the fall or blip in Gold/Silver, what with everything going on out there. I suppose it is just a little but of profit taking. I can see all the fund managers coming out of their recent Banking shares gains back into here very soon. I do not understand the Banking sector rises with less margin to begin with and the likelihood of increased risk and debt as we move toward the end of the year and post Brexit.

I suppose following Gold lower as the NYSE feel a deal with China is coming-but how many times have we heard that.
Unless they went ex-divi -? Any idea when we might get it? I have not even got my ABX shares yet, HSBC are sitting on them I suppose!!
Mind you the loss is not so bad as GBP is down against the CAD which we are now rated in.

Yes and other positives are that it is a great currency play what with the position of sterling likely to be very volatile over the next month or so, and especially from tomorrow when Bojo returns from his NY shopping w/end.
By the way Silver rated in GBP is now up over 36,45% on the year. I am sure more will realise this in time.

Should prove a challenge for sterling. and Cuprinol Corbin who sits on the fence should help us here too. Not surprisingly Gold still moving up. If sterling falls our earnings will be more too.

We closed at £2.194, and Silver is still moving up tonight currently now up 5.14% in Usd. Hopefully this will hold or go further overnight and we will be in for a good run tomorrow.

Hi PP -you need to ring your stock broker as Acacia shares are no longer trading as a separate Company they have been bought out and taken over in full by Barrick Gold the Canadian Company. Your stock broker can advise you further. So you will not see any further changes in price on here as they are now trading under the code ABX on the Canadian and North American exchange. However the good news is Barrick as I have made reference to is on the the rise.
