I suppose one cannot blame Lloyds bank for delaying their intention after a days sudden gains. I regrettably expect the price to drift before they/if they come in. They also might wait until the political situation in the Uk is clearer too I suppose before coming in, which is sensible after all as they might/will also need govt approval to do so. However I am starting to see this share as a longer termer now rather than a shorter one. Time and patience is the key here in my humble opinion.

Happy days even Barrick was up by nearly 4% today. I am sure we have more to go too. Barrick results next week should be good, with solid forward looking statements now the export ban is lifted in Tanzania and as N.Mala gets back up to speed.

Hi P yes all the regulars on that Board know best. I get ignored in that one, but will be proved right in the end I am sure when the Great White "Mark Bristow" comes looking for his next meal. I can see them being gobbled up by Barrick very soon, once the Burkina Faso and other West African Countries are seen on the radar as fit for expansion.

Another solid and profitable performance. Hoc have a large number of interests now (including rare earths) and look like they are restructuring their costs. Long may the higher precious metals prices continue bringing more cash, whilst the loan book has been reduced, whilst taking out low rate loans to repay higher rates. Sound business sense.

GN-Not much going on in Burkina Faso due to terrorists activities, and recently one Golf exploration exec. was killed.
However the West of Africa is being looked at for potential mines, perhaps that is why CEY retain 290m in the bank! interesting link below :-

Good results from Centamin and Hoc, show rising prices in precious metals are helping profits. Unbelievably Centamin have no debt and $290m in the bank I see this as another Barrick takeover target. Afterall they have eaten up Randgold and Acacia and Centamin is in a very good shape after finding tremendous new reserves. They also have licences for Burkina Faso. Worth a punt.

Have a feeling this is something to do with the Canadian elections? Or Trump tweeting the China deal is moving closer? Which I cannot see to be honest before the 2020 ??

Barrick now can release all the Gold deposits held and have an agreement with the Govt of Tanzania. Also have now acquired all of Acacia holdings including their Burkina Faso exploration licenses. Watch this space I can see some sort of deal coming Centamins way, and Mark Bristow is a very quick deal maker!! With a resigning CEO here the door is open. To be honest we could do with a bounce.

What a situation they tell us when we will be getting our Barrick shares and then we find they are not authorised to trade in Canada. It seems they were also aware of this problem earlier in the year when Barrick bought Randgold but didn't tell their Acacia shareholders problems for dealing with Barrick shares lay ahead. I'd be interested Franky in what date you got paid yours as I feel they should pay their shareholders the amount based on when they should have acquired them,. I agree with you by the way on Barrick being a good hedge particularly after Monday if Boris can't get the deal through which is looking very unlikely having lost a majority. However I think his is the best on the table.

Very clever move this by Hoc considering its strategic and what's more geographic position. The costs involved in shipping will be a lot less to the Western World including the USA from South America than the other side of the World. If the US cannot source from China then Hoc is going to be very well placed to deliver. They can simply phone a friend!!

Hi Franky -do you have the date when you acquired your Barrick shares -can you believe HSBC have still not allocated them to me, and say they are not now authorised to trade in Canada -I think they have go themselves into a situation here to be honest. Meanwhile the shares have been falling and I cannot trade them even if I wanted to. I feel they now owe me the difference in price between when they were paid them and the date when they give them to me?
