Whilst IAG enjoys better fuel hedging than Easy, if the oil price goes up EJ sp tends to suffer more than IAG for that reason.
conversely, IAG has around 57 777's with a few more to come this year, so the IAG SP has been more suppressed than EJ bc it has a much greater exposure to the USA market meaning it has to use different a/c to fly to the states (380'2/350's & 787's) . Whilst this is possible and BA are doing this, it reduces BA's efficiency and hence SP. Of course IAG is more than BA so it will recover in time....

@ LivestockI posted a couple of days ago that i was fying to Cape town on friday, and so I did. BUT my experiance was the complete opposite. I was booked in club and I'm a regular BA customer with a CIV of 97 and i got downgraded!. I did query it and I was eventually put back in my rightful seat. It was apparently a human error by someone 'new' as they were oversold in all cabins!!!
Not sure how that will translate to revenue but I regul;arly face these kinds of issues as the flights I take always seem to be chocka-... It's difficult to complain though when I hold so many IAG shares. Can't have it both ways!.....
GLA tomorrow!
@JB
I have no doubt the worst is behind us - unless screw the world variant- comes along, IAG just needs some 'settling' in time to get back on it's feet . I'm now 'heavely' invested here, but not going to worry about tree shakes/profit taking etc, I think next few weeks will be telling but from the graphs the SP is steadily (erratically) rising.
Once end year results come out I think it will bring about a positive rise in SP for even if the results aren't as good, the fact that they are increasing and hopefully in profit will be enough to increase the SP. Either way as a LTH i'm now worried and I hope the 'new guys' don't get pushed in to panic selling on the tree shakes to come...
Good luck with your trip. i hear that they are now bringing 7 back as opposed to 6 380's ....and all the pilots on CRS will be back flying by end April/May...
GLA
Agreed, would just add that there is a lag for (sadly) associated deaths which have yet to peak in about 3-4 weeks time., coupled with Q4/yearly results I think the news will be positive:
1. Good cash flow
2. Gov will remove most if not all travel restrictions.
3. most countries will follow suit as soon as they have enough 2/3 vaxxed populations.
So the end is in sight, maybe just 2 months for UK to back to no restrictions whatsoever and the world in 6, just in time for summer!
Fully invested now, bought in low 130's, no dry powder left...
GLA
tend to agree with the consensus here, one broker will not make a huge difference, especially when results are out soon. ...
i think its more a case of broker positioning himself bc he believes there will be a fall come results day.
having taken several flights with IAG over the last few months (on average 2 a month first or club) i am witness to the fact that every flight i've taken has been chocka, even to the point of downgrading!
my paper profit in the last few weeks is now into big sums and if i thought for one moment it would fall, i would sell but i'm confident once UK, USA and the Auzzies ride out the next 5 weeks, it will be good news. numbers are already starting to fall...
which will all coincide with 4th Feb which I think is results day...

and population the Darwin awards as they walked off the edge of cliffs...all in the name of a selfie. go figure!
yep think it might fall Monday (on the basis that the SP does the opposite of my predictions, lol)
GLA
@spar thats something we agree on. only question is when.?
i'm thinking on release of Q4 final figures and hopefully profit. The then question will be how much profit will be needed to turn the SP above 220?
GLA
Of course it's very tempting to take profit but why when we are coming out of the tunnel!?
Sure it will be a bumpy ride that's why ppl short this share and some get their fingers burnt. An opinion is just that an opinion and you don't back it up with anything so sounds like you want ppl to sell so the SP drops, so you can make the point.
Here's a prediction for you (and i'm really good at this:-), SP will drop in the coming weeks and will rise after that! oooh
GLA
ps and i'm holding until the doomicron variant is the dominant strain... and of course the Q4 figures...
most of us believe this will reach 200, the only question is when!!! and this SP is sooo volatile its a dangerous game to be out when should be in!
I will now hold unless we have WW3 in which case we're all doomed, doomed, doomed!

@Skindle
I'm not forecasting but making money! and lots of it. Hope everyone else is too.
I have never said anyone should sell, quite the opposite, I always say people should hold. I have dabbled in shorting to bring my average way down so now XXk in profit.
i have very clearly said this will climb in january and yes thought it might drop a little first and it did both and the charts prove it.
I'm fishi for nuggets of info as there are either rampers or de-rampers and like to illicit reaction and reasoning from both. I 'm just not interested in drivel from the likes of BB et Al and whether Aliens landed on Mars or JFK was not really assassinated!
My last post was a rhetorical question and if you had read my last post you would have understood that. Without sarcasm hope you held.
I am all in and have been for a couple of weeks
