The first RNS only referred to 177m shares as well. Very odd situation and a complete mess.

Was the first release from a draft perhaps which anticipated a higher price and the placing price came down, so they had to sell some more shares to their existing holder at a higher price to plug the gap in funding needed to avoid the earlier referred to loan ?

Also, do the 1.25 p shares come with a warrant or is there just a generous benefactor happy to buy higher than the market and a placing ?

No revised prediction due to additional shares ? Or does the accelerated program due to the new cash (exactly) balance that out ?

Well it looks like everyone is positive on this which is good. Still looks like a bit like a petrol station bouquet to me but I’m very happy to be wrong.

If that licence drops in and the gold price holds a lot of people will be scratching their heads wondering how the deals were done / how they missed them.

I can’t help thinking how nice it would be if they just suspended the share in situations like this so they could get then have a small film crew at the drill site with Philippa Forrester (not essential but always a favourite of mine) giving us all regular updates. We could all then enjoy the ride; management seem to have all the fun in situations like this.

Typographical error or a whole new world of arithmetic I am yet to experience ?

Thanks itsyou; that is interesting and looking back it seems the current jorc report at the mining licence was based on just 15 holes (plus a lot of underground work).

‘Only about a third of the strike length delineated by artisan workings has been taken into consideration in modelling, and only a tenth is reasonably well documented ‘ - I suppose you could take this either way; jorc report estimates inaccurate and there is possibly less gold (partially reflected in the high inferred number) or report essentially incomplete and we have A LOT more to come.

I’d have thought that those ‘locked in’ holders could come out of the shadows or maybe they drop that info in as clues later if we are struggling.

This has been tweeted but due a prevalence of nominee accounts it appears of little value to me.

Could be a fun game for later though; match the nominee to the known holder. Odd they have listed the same nominees multiple times, wonder if this is designed to help the game.

I think in August a presidential election takes place with the incumbent unable to run. The last such election resulted in some serious disorder as I understand things. Right out in the country there shouldn’t be any direct issues I’d hope but obviously there could be knock on effects. I think I’d be more interested to know how the two leading candidates might view mining operations in general as the current regime seems fairly supportive.

Good interview I thought but what is their greatest achievement of the quarter ?

- huge increase in gold production
- huge increase in rom; so much so that they have now built up a large stockpile to feed a new heap leach plant expansion
- key management hires
- two great acquisitions, structured well to reduce the need to raise funds
- renewed prospecting licence
- two drill bits whirring to increase resource
- reduced production costs against inflationary backdrop
- accelerated plans to increase production

In my view it is none of the above. Somehow, somehow, they have conspired to make all of their unequivocally great progress appear as bad news which is a simply phenomenal achievement. I am not sure how, but they have done it. Over stressing a single target, slightly delayed release of incomplete, flabby and confused Q4 information, leaking certain elements to a broker in advance, releasing an updated presentation prior to results are all possible explanations. Fortunately in the long term I do not think this really matters a great deal (I bought a few more shares on the dip this morning) but it is very frustrating. Come on Caracal - do yourself justice.
