Very difficult to assess the value of investment analyst notes. They're quite hightly qualified people with degrees in business/finance/economics and should have 3-5 yrs experience in the financial industry (preferably investment or actuarial). Base salaries for HSBC are 60-70 k gbp. They can earn bonusses that can double that salary. In theory, what they say should hold value. In practice, I sometimes wonder whether they are 'given a steer' as what the bank or significant clients of the bank would like to see in the public domain. I'd argue that these notes should be read cautiously and not completely disregarded.

Having said that, average price targets are around 650 with HSBC today reducing to 530. There's a lot of variation with the lowest target at 400p and the highest at 793p. The actual SP has traded between 400-600 over the last year, suggesting a disconnect between analyst views (650) and real SP (516).

I think analyst views should be the beginning of PI's research and not taken too litterally.

It might go sub 50p but i expect support at 48.6p ,buyers will chase it IMO

We are either going to have a little move back to 53p tomorrow or a move down to 48.6p to test recent support again,could be buyers at 43p if the support falls away.

We do not know if its worth 5p yet,hopefully worth a little more ,have to wait for the investigation for answers.

Poker,personally i think Wood Group are only worth around 5p a share at moment but there is some trading to do before the next mighty fall.At the right moment i will open a different position :-)

Nothing changed, so why would it fly. The results look 'in-line'. Do you think the price was suppressed due to an expectation of something bad (beyond what has been publicised)?

There was little lift on open, and I have no strong feeling on where the price will head. I was relieved to not find anything bad, but also couldn't see anything new?

Very upbeat Jet2 figures this morning. Wouldn't be difficult to imagine it has a positive impact on EZJ

Bu g g er, I was 'interfered with' coming into the close there and didn't drop what I wanted to drop. I managed to drop 15% before said interference. I hope there's dirty, girt big SP jump tomorrow (having failed in my mission to moderate my risk). One never really knows whether errors will play into or against the hand you're holding.

British Storm Shadow Missile has been fired into Russie.... I read Starmer had hinted at allowing British missiles to be used inside Russia. It made me think a bit. I guess all these guys are talking to each other, it's not the sand-pit. But, if Biden ok'd US missiles to be fired into Russia and 'if' Trump wants to end the conflict through some sort of agreement would reverse Biden's decision, then wtf is Starmer doing allowing British missiles to be fire into Russia (if he has). Seems naive and short sighted and is not likely to leave on the right side of any negotiations with the US or Russia come January. Is our current government pulled directly from a cub scout hut or are there so many silly 'ifs' in my thought process that it's me that should go back to cubs and earn another badge getting old ladies across the road.

Something stinks of amateurism to me
