Establishing timeframes2 Feb 2022 15:08
I remember as an icebreaker during my first lecture at University, I was given a map of England and asked to draw a line defining the South of England. I of course, drew a line directly below the River Tyne, because from my standing point, everything below that was south.
The ambiguity of the question that was posed I can relate to timeframes. Depending on how long you have been in a stock, or how long you intended to be in a stock will allow you a different interpretation of the terms, ‘soon’, ‘imminent’, ‘early Q1’ etc. They are all open to differing interpretations. Early Q1 for me is January, February is mid Q1 and March late Q1. However if you split the quarter in half and have an early and late Q1 then anything up to mid February is early Q1. So depending on your standpoint, early Q1 has gone and we are in mid Q1, or else early Q1 still has a couple of weeks to go.
I hate ambiguity!!
