I remember Gerard talking about the Port Authorities having to accept the technology being used on board ships, and that it needed uniform acceptance across all port authorities. I think this was a stumbling block at the time. The pressure to get the cruise industry kick started is going to put pressure on Port Authorities to nail their colours to the mast (to coin a nautical phrase) and decide on the technology they want to use/accept. I am sure the PA's work with medical agencies and will require certain accreditations etc. A lot of authorities/agencies to satisfy and must me a frustrating slog for Gerard and the Team.

Your last paragraph T.Rat was significant regarding the self- sufficiency in surveillance. This is highlighting COVID-19 but I am sure, in time, will be applied to other infectious diseases.

Just a reminder. DeepVerge water monitoring doesn't solve the problems with the water, it identifies what the problem is. If you don't know what is causing the problem, how do you know how or what to correct/change. Blissful ignorance will no longer be a defence for water management companies. My concern is, and always has been, that DeepVerge technology will unearth a range of, as yet, unidentified and untreated elements and will need to be addressed. Water companies may be wary of unearthing these elements because it will cost them money to address. As I said before, blissful ignorance will no longer be a defence.

I feel that DeepVerge is emerging from a prolonged period of research and development and are now seeking to monetise on this work. I accept that existing infrastructure has been left largely untouched but that is set to change. Kick starting Skin Trust Club is basically starting a new business and the up-front costs will have been significant. R+D and marketing tend to burn money and show little return in the early stages. Applying the new business model to the water monitoring business and retrofitting or replacing the existing water monitoring infrastructure will start to generate significant income streams. My concern is can we meet demand when moving on so many fronts. I am holding strong here because I believe we can.

Gerard has just replied to my Twitter qquestion and you were on the ball with your suggestion.
'Units of 5 mobile service vehicles will have a local/regional area to manage. First service unit will be in the UK next week. They are gathering baseline data for comparative datasets, which are transmitted to our servers for analysis and instant results'.

Any idea how many mobile testing units are out and about?

The presentation posted yesterday made reference to 'Lateral Flow Dipsticks' under the heading 'Post Pandemic Sensors - Trials'. I had not seen these referenced before in this context but it feeds in to an integrated automated solution. Abingdon are based in York, so close to DeepVerge's Sand Hutton campus so the proximity may make the working synergies easier. I think this may have been on Gerard's radar for a while as he saw that Abingdon had taken a kicking on the Govt Covid contracts and saw an opportunity to utilise their technology. Opportunist, possibly, spreading ourselves to thinly, maybe, progressive, definitely.

Is the elephant in the room the 'apparent' lack of progress on the China Resource deal. I suspect this potential deal dragged a lot of new investors here and they may be getting twitchy at the lack of updates. Labskin is great and the updates in this area are pretty good but I want to hear about China Resources. Still very positive but like everyone else, always want more concise updates.

I can see the irony Argylerich but I believe Gerard has seen an opportunity and taken it. I thought Microsaic was an acquisition target, (and may well still be). This came a bit out of left field but is does make sense. The working synergies with both companies will facilitate the delivery of the units. Small margins from a larger pot was the way forward but the world has changed and I am pleased that DVRG are able to adapt their plans to fit this 'new world'. Time will tell if Gerard has got this right. Very interesting times.

Assembly was always going to be in Ireland so this acquisition, appears, to make good business sense. China Resources were, I though, manufacturers of components to be shipped to Cork for assembly. This is where Gerard has confused me as this is where the supply chain needs tightening up. Maybe there was a caveat in the China Resources deal that necessitated DVRG obtaining this debt facility. Trying to join the dots here but still very confident.

Anybody else think China Resources might have wanted to see this before progressing any deal. Pure speculation on my part!!

On first reading an excellent RNS and set of results. As ever, the devil is in the detail, so a few further readings required in case I have missed anything. For now at least, very upbeat.
