"underground vent shafts started"?
Would we not see some prep work on the surface first.....at the locations where they emerge. Can see some possibly cleared areas, but they have been cleared for a while, in likely spots if you look at the 3D mine infrastructure model.
One rock does not make an autumn. Or spring.
Nice per carat number, shame the report had only one September stone of note.
Thanks for the many who showed up at the Cheshire Cheese to "warm up" and allow us all to match names and faces.
I had to check, as temporary organiser / social secretary, that you'd all safely made it away from the Cheshire Cheese of course, and must thank "James who only reads", and Honest Tom, who assisted in checking the bar area thoroughly - while mulling over the delights and traumas of AIM share ownership for a couple of hours.
We may need a bigger room for the next Town Hall event......
I know at the last July Town Hall Bamps suggested a pre-meet meeting in the pub around the corner from the venue. The pub he suggested was the Cheshire Cheese, tucked under a railway arch under Fenchurch Station at a spectacularly confusing merging of numerous lanes and streets, and yes, I was sober.
In my new (temporary time limited) role as "Bamps' Apprentice", I thought I could suggest the same approach again. Tower Hill Underground is the nearest and the pub is at 48 Crutched Friars, London EC3N 2AP. (Beware, there are other Cheshire Cheeses in central London.)
I'll aim to be there at 4pm, hopefully a little sooner. Please feel free to drink the bar dry before I arrive if your travel plans permit.
Meet up of GGP-ers in nearby pub from about 3pm onwards. Decanted to Town Hall just before 6pm. Venue near Tower Hill underground station. Started with presentation at 6pm. Food and informal chat started about 7.30pm. Shaun was out the door and off by about 9pm or shortly thereafter. Some returned to reconvene in pub. Some were sensible and caught train out to airport hotel cos they had an early morning flight to catch. Wish I hadn't been sensible.
Just a quick thank you for those who came to last night's Stirling meet, a mix of familiar faces and new, all of whom I'm certain will join me in thanking Bamps for travelling a long way to share his thoughts on HAV and how it has grown and our other prospects on tenements large and larger.
Apologies for the technology not quite working as hoped - please book an opticians appointment if any of Bamps slides are still unclear after he marks up the images with his notes and I share them via a link here. (The link may not appear on this thread until next week.)
Reminder for those who may have missed it. We are at the Birds & Bees, pub with food and drink and Bamps, a mile or so from Stirling train station.
Come join us - I'm in the black cardigan.... The private room we have is on the left if you follow the edge of the bar in that direction.
@FSA
No problem, the more the merrier..... you are more than welcome.
And it means I'll be able to hide at the back more easily behind the enlarged throng and avoid eye contact with Bamps when he's in the midst of ovoid calculations and checking if the class is still following.
@GFish
Birds & Bees, pub that does food in Stirling, just over a mile from the train station....in case you don't know it.
It's the classic Glasgow-Edinburgh / east-west venue compromise.
Come join us, if you can. I'll be in my black cardigan..... No-one else in their right mind wears a cardigan to the pub in this day and age so you should spot me. 6.30pm start, we are in the smaller "Lounge" function room along the left of the bar when you enter.
There's another function happening in the larger back room..... Probably with more drink, cake, lights, balloons and a DJ. We are technically celebrating HAD005s 4th birthday.... But without the hullabaloo....
@Davielad
You are counted on my list and hope you do get to Stirling in good time on Tuesday.... I did fear a double booking with the Gers, bit reckon it's easier for you to cut the business meetings short if need be. ;-)
@Archways - gosh, this is embarrassing, having met you at the Town hall in July. It'll of course be ten times more embarrassing when I don't recognise you on Tuesday.
Apologies for hijacking this thread briefly to squeeze in:
Stirling meet, Tuesday 20th September, 6.30pm Birds & Bees. Guest of honour is Bamps.
All welcome, I'm hoping to hide at the back of the room and not have to identify and describe the different types of breccias to prove what I've learnt to date.
@Arabjim
You are more than welcome Jim. Thanks for letting me know.
I can lend you a shot of the black "mourning" cardigan if the chat strays to that sport where you kick the round ball between the two upright sticks. Sorry, I'll let you move on from the weekend.
