So I've read the RNS again and although shareholders are naturally disappointed there are a number of mitigating factors, many of which have already been mentioned on the board but I'll draw them together here: 1) Those results are from the teething phase of the operation. It always takes time to ramp up to full production because delays, equipment failure and process refinement will happen in the beginning. 2) washing started in early September and finished in early November. So we're really only talking about just over two months' effort. 3) The larger of the washing plants had downtime as it was damaged (they are sorting this problem so it doesn't happen again this season). 4) Probably most importantly, the grades are higher than expected. And of course the other RNS is a BIG vote of confidence in the project. That other, well-established company would not be fronting up another bucket load of cash at these early stages if they weren't impressed by what they'd seen in the first few months of production.

If WK was a flop, how is it that they've persuaded another large, well-established company to fund an expansion?

As shareprice is currently trading at near historic lows. Certainly a good entry point if you believe in the potential of WK to deliver in the short-term and Monte in the medium long term

nicely above the 50-day MA. Nobody likes to see a drop but that's the way of these things. Absolutely no reason why this can't revisit territory broken into at the end of last week (5p+). The scoping study is underway and iron ore price remains strong.

News on WK is imminent and if I had a piece of so-so news like today and a piece of good news like WK might be then I'd want to get the mediocre news out of the way first.

Signs of the shareprice starting to wake up now after a three week slumber? Some key pieces of news due in January so not long to wait now. A positive in either of those (WK or MC) should push this back up to 0.9 (at least in the short-term!).
