If we say a baseline "fair" value for a complete takeout of Cascabel, AT THIS STAGE only, was £1/share, then come a couple of years when they've put some serious drilling into 2 or three more targets, and they're shaping up nicely, then why not add a £1/share for each one. The you're talking £3-4/share.

Perhaps the reference to it doubling again next year is just the natural progression of the full resource deliniation. It brings to mind that slide I saw in the Jason Ward presentation from a year ago where they showed the progression in size over 4 or 5 years as one of the great copper porphyries (forget the name of it) was drilled out.

From the original resource it grew by close to 10 times if memory serves. From that perspective, if Alpala is one of the greats, as it looks to be, then a doubling again next year (making it a 4x original) is well within reach.

The price held up very nicely today, again. Exercised options were supposedly admitted to the market today, but not a blip. As has been suggested by a few on here, perhaps it was possible to forward sell and that was a contributor to the intraday drop to 36.5p a few days ago. It seems like those who wanted to sell have done so.

Burn, yes I think I remember watching an interview where he said that. But many a junior has stated something along those lines. It's one thing saying that there is interest, and it's quite another to see that interest take the next step.

It's hard to say what will happen after the updated MRE, as it's still early days in the study timeline, with the PEA yet to set the baseline economics early next year. One thing is for sure, if the MRE comes out at at least double the existing, as NM has intimated, then Alpala will be established as a suitable deposit for any of the majors to take on.

It's likely to be an exciting few months here at the very least.

It was time to raise some capital to fund next year's exploration and studies. That's the only reason I held off buying, and missed the rise from 25p. Not only did he get the placing away at a very significant premium (rather than the usual significant discount), but he's brought on board a second heavyweight miner and has been able to name his terms (i.e. prevent a hostile takeover for the next 2 years).

Since I haven't the will nor the time to engage in a protracted and pointless argument on here I'll say the following and leave you to your ramping:

Jayblu - clearly I'm not invested here. No, there are a whole spectrum of risk levels on AIM - and this is at the higher end of the spectrum, currently.

Newboy - that is true - most stocks that show a good rise will attract attention, both from the bulls and the bears. I always find it informative to read balanced opinions from both sides. Eyes wide open to both the positives and the negatives is the best policy.

NI, Ref your list of criteria, are the directors heavily invested here? There may be a clear plan to get finance here but is the path clear?! Agree, that there is great potential to accumulate, and the flip-side lose, money on shares in general, not just AIM. Value will out - perhaps. Those well-informed investors, and I don't say that sarcastically, who bought at 80p and 100p, and unfortunately still hold, will certainly hope so too. I note that it is the new kids on the block that are most vocal on this BB now. No surprise there.

Anyone who is investing, rather than trading, here should be aware that this is high risk.

Firstly, the financing is by no means a certainty, as those who bought (and held) at 145p, at 100p and at 80p will testify. Secondly what terms BCN will achieve, from a point of market cap weakness, is anyone's guess and it may not be all that attractive to existing holders.

Now those of you who have vested interests may argue with the above until you are blue in the face, but the points stand nevertheless.

Given their recent moves in close succession it is clear that they are not messing around. The first purchase (at a premium) was done without even consulting NM, which suggests they have been following the story closely for a while (certainly they've been keeping tabs since they were turned down in 2016). Then they were happy to pay a second premium, with a number of strict provisos attached, to get their stake up to 10%. I stand by my previous comment that if you were to offer Cascabel to them, lock stock and barrel, for £1/share right now, they would take it. The point is that NM thinks he would be short-changed by such a move at this stage.

Ian B - that's a persuasive point, as earlier in the year it was all talk about rolling out the medical reps. Now, as you say, it's gone quiet on that front, which might well imply that it is no longer needed...

Sheltie, but that would be the case for pretty much any small-cap pharma. They can't go it alone. On the one side you may say the big pharmas have MTFB over a barrel, but on the other there may be a scramble to buy the rights first (if/when the application is successful). There are plenty of examples of small pharmas rocketing to the skies once their potential blockbuster drug gets the all-clear. The one I have in mind - can't remember the name (but I'm sure some of the LTHs on here know a few), was fairly stable in share price and then after the approval, quite literally rocketed out of the gates.

Hedgeman, I understand what you're saying but the takeover line must be one of the top 5 over-used phrases on public bulletin boards!

Almost every small and mid-cap miner share has people rabbiting on about takeovers on a regular basis.

Please, that's such an irritating thing to say. Of course, in my opinion. It goes without saying that unless you are stating an ironclad fact, by which I mean reporting, without embellishment, something that has happened in the past , then you are clearly stating only an opinion. And absolutely everything, without exception (yes there's even a very tiny probablility that the sun won't "rise" tomorrow), is postulation and probabilities.

My argument for the sale was based on logic. Yes, I don't know the financial position of the employees, but I imagine it's a similar cross-section to any other mid-sized company (i.e. not choc full of people with £20-30k to spare). And many people, however much they believe in SOLG, just would not be comfortable having that amount of money as a long term investment.

You are clearly convinced of your own opinion on this, but you'll have to do better to convince me that I don't have the right of it. Let's see on Friday shall we. If I'm wrong I'll eat humble pie on here, no problem.

RR, the exercised options amount to a serious amount of money ~£5mil odd. Any employee who has any sense at all will have maxed out on this. Many will not have had enough readies to buy their full amount, and they certainly won't have enough readies to commit for 12 months. Yes, this looks a good investment but nothing in the stock market is certain, so they will only keep what they feel comfortable with - the rest will be sold for a tidy profit.

Not in the least bit presumptious - just plain old common sense.
