As a rather long-term 'under water' Puricor shareholder I still do not quite know what to make of this business. Thoughts please. Thanks.
Particularly like the USD cash pile and the increased dividend. I wonder if this excellent little international business might prove to be a tasty morsel for a much larger operation.
tyneagle, Despite the excellent reports in February and May the sp has only gone up 5% since your last posting. There are un-fashionable companies, perhaps this is one of them.
sheltie, It must have half killed you to lay out £4.90 on the Investors Chronicle (I.C.) particularly so when on Friday you were reckoning to pay much less. Can the I.C. really cost as much as that? Last time I actually bought it, this to read Mr. Bearbull in around 1960, if memory serves it was about half a crown. lol
How right you appear to be. The live share price is at this moment 262.5000 this is up nearly 3%.
Having held these for two weeks they are up about 30%. However I feel very much encouraged by the positive attitude of you all and feel that if the Amazon deal is extended to other countries anything is possible including getting bought out.
Great performance by management. But how much of this really is down to a weakening GBP? Do share buybacks really make sense, would it not be better to invest the £100M in growing the business?
Exceptionally good results. In light of the most positive statement I am wondering whether to top up a little.
FallingKnife, And it pays a dividend.
Thanks Pinkers, I have along with others been a shareholder here for a number of years and often wondered why very few seemed particularly interested in investing in what is a good little business. It was always a bit of a 'no brainer' that if a seemingly bellicose Mr Trump were to be elected it would be good for 'defence' stocks including us. What ever anyone thinks of Trump it has to be acknowledged that so far he has done good for the CNC shareholders and now it seems has Mr Lee. All we need now is for the company to firm it up by making a few stunning sales.
Pinkers, Please will you be kind and expand on this. Please why do you think that the Trump effect is involved? Many of my shares have benefitted from Trump but the majority are now beginning to weaken. Even so a number of them did not rise at all on the back of Trump and their prices remain mostly unchanged. With many thanks.
Closed at 87p up 2.4% on a t/o of around 219,000 shares. Interestingly the s.p. hit 89.50p during the days trading. The John Lee influence still continues?
Ophelia, Many thanks for the information. Just over 360,000 changed hands today and the s.p. closed up 5%. Tomorrow morning the profit taking? We will see.
We are up just about 6% on the day with a turnover of just under 350,000 shares - why all of a sudden? Has someone done a research note or has some journalist tipped them, or what? The next listed event is the AGM on May 25th, in market terms that's a lifetime away so it can't be that.
Whilst today's announcement is all very good the report seems to be written in language that is largely incomprehensible to this shareholder. The amount of technical business-speak jargon is excessive and has reduced me to a state where I am no longer entirely sure what the nature of the business really is. Notwithstanding this there are less than 10 million shares issued and this is reflected in the 4.5% spread between the buying and selling prices, perhaps it would help a little if there were a share split - a 3 for 1 for instance?
About three years+ of posts have been deleted, maybe fifteen posts in all!
The Stock Exchange and this site have pretty much the same closing price but interestingly Google Finance has them closing at 245.49. It could be that the stock recovered after hours thus the coy didn't bother to make an announcement. Tomorrow should be interesting.
It is interesting to note that out of the 111,111,114 shares in issue the directors hold 20,103,095 between them and the staff have subscribed for 150,584. There are no shares held in 'treasury'. What will be most interesting to see is a list of other major holders, presumably this will soon begin to come out.
This seems to make three of us, maybe others will join later. Altogether rather a successful little float.
