This seems to support my argument that falls in the share price may not always be down to company specific issues. In today's case judgin my the time of the decline it may have been connected to the car sales figures which came out at about 9.30 and disappointed the markets.

Chigboy - The next scheduled general election is not until 2022. After it backfired so badly last time I do not think the conservatives will risk calling an early election again.

Chilting - I do not see that happenintg as it would seriously impact on shareholder value and dilute CF's personal stake to an extent that his famikly members would not be best pleased.

Myosotis/PAAA - May I float an option that has not been discussed. I was looking at the notes to the accounts and noticed that sirius has a 100% owned susidiary called Dakota Salts. As this is in the US and does not appear to be core to the current business can this be utilised to raise the $4-600m? One option is to enter into a Joint Venture to develop it. I do not know much about this company so do not know how viable an option it is just puttin it out there for discussion.

eurofox - While that was the case with stage 1 I am inclined to the view that those banking on a placing may be disappointed. My reading of the situation is that Chris Fraser will do everything possible to avoid any dilution. What would be interesting is what would happen if I am right and the share price shoots up with people betting on a placin to get in cheap.

In any event I think we are just in a holding trading range until we get definitive news on stage 2 financing.

tuckupp - This is untrue the time to worry is when you see your job advertise at half your current salary.

Roulette - No it was not me that mentioned that quote but now you mention it the wording is interesting. I cannot remember how TS dealt with the issue during the conference call but it would be interesting to see what would be the case if more than $3bn of senior debt was on offer what would be done.

AlanG - You state in your 13.58 post 'CF has stated stage two will be financed by debt !! Also interested a European deal is in the bag along with othe Torp,s' I do not recall CF evr using such absolute terms he always said that it is intended that stage 2 will be all debt. I appreciate that it might appear to be hair splitting but you should always be careful when quoting somebody so as not to misrepresent their position. Equally in relation to the European TorPs he has said that they are in advance negotiations. I do not recall the term in the bag being used by CF or anybody else connected with SXX.

Avocet123 - I am inclined to think that the additional capex is likely to raised predominantly, if not exclusively, by non equity raising means. The reason for this is that Chris Fraser listed equity as the last option and Chris Fraser would be keen for this to be the case. I tend to think that another strategic partner like ADM is the more likely source of the additional funding.

ChrisF - Going forward once the mine is up and running I can see this as a possibility for SXX subject to finance and a firm customer base.

Avocet123 - I would disagree with you in part. My point of disagreement is over whether European offtakes only might be affected by BREXIT, If newspaper reports are to be believed or are accurate, it seems that HMG are getting ready to change its position on a customs union. The reports are that HMG will agree to restrictions on its ability to make free trade agreements for a period of time to allow further time to resolve the Irish Border question. In that scenario then any offtake agreement would be affected because a free trade agreement that would include reduced or zero tariffs on fertilisers would be delayed.

AlanG - Even if BHP are looking for a takeover target Sirius in my opinion would not be it. At the current market capitalisation allowing for a premium on the current share price BHP would need upwards of $2bn just to buy the shares. That is before you add on the cost of completing the mine. So you think that BHP will go to its shareholders asking them to approve $5bn to purchase a mine when they would not see any income yet alone profit for over two years. I do not think they would be happy with that ide on top of the costs so far spent on Jansen with nothing to show for it.

Verde you state 'Any adult can put up to their year's earnings in a SIPP' that is subject to certain limits on how much you can place in a SIPP tax free. The rules have changed so take professional advice on the subject.
