Si_Derman In relation to your 07.22 post yes that is the one I had in mind. The flagship that the PM has in mind is about a third cheaper. That said I am not sure that there are many shipyards with the dock size to build the new flagship.

gravey6 In relation to your 23.32 post of yesterday at least one Naval Architect has proposed that such a ship is built in Northern Ireland at H&W. In addition before it was taken over by BAB H&W Appledore did build yachts. It should be noted that most of the other shipyards that could do such a build due to its size are all defence yards and not equipped to build a yacht. The exception Cammell Laird when it built the research ship Sir David Attenborough delivered it about 2 years late.

If INFA did go for the tender I suspect it would do it with BMT who are experienced British Naval Architects and are working with INFA as part of Team Resolute. I wonder what this will do to the share price?

The view from the Telegraph https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2021/05/26/ministers-attacked-failure-ensure-british-shipyards-secure-navy/ I do not subscribe to the Telegraph so if anyone does can they please copy and paste the article if it says anything new.

My view is that Team UK and its backers are trying to avoid any competition. If you look at who is in Team UK you have all the main shipbuilders. While Team Resolute includes Navantia who are promising to show INFA more modern and efficient ways to build ships. It is this knowledge transfer that is the main issue. If INFA applies more modern methods of shipbuilding learnt from Navantia then it could build ships at lower costs. So for Team UK it is essential that foreign companies are kept out as they cannot compete on costs.

Chitta123 In relation to your 08.34 post I am having problems following your logic. The purchase of H&W was from the liquidators of the company. I stand to be corrected but this was not a transaction which needed any regulatory approval. I am therefore not sure if there is any linkage between the purchase of H&W and Islandmagee. While I agree that H&W will succeed I do not accept that there is any government influence even though there is dialogue with HMG.

Loosegoose In relation to your 18.40 post from yesterday at the recent roadshow the only one of my questions sent in in advance that was not answered was the question about the poor responses to emails to the investor@infrastrataplc.com. But emails to media do not get much of a better response.

What may worry the BoD is that not all of the shares under the Open Offer were taken up. Without checking I think less than 50% of the Open Offer shares were taken up. It was perhaps fortunate that the Placing was oversubscribed and raised more than needed.
