I think very certainly will drop more this week. It looks like no idea when sales will come and it just rose a lot to boot. Although GDR may have a chance to sell overseas eventually (and in UK for AIHL as well).

I think they have to try and go for lab tests first (case law has established that trusts need to follow NICE guidance).

The big positive for GDR is they beat the competing POC device. But can't see GDR getting much sales for this in UK though as believe this will go down the lab route in UK. NICE gave various reasons why they prefer lab testing for this.

Personally think GDR will need partnerships abroad to stand a chance of selling the stroke product in significant numbers. On separate topic, the comments from Cheek suggest some frustration to me. Perhaps because NHS England is not advancing specialist commissioning for AIHL.

I made an overall trading profit on GDR as well.

I was slightly out with my SP forecast. I thought SP would be at 2.8p by COP yesterday. Looks like it will get there on Monday though.

MyIPA, There are lines that can cause confusion and be read more than one way, especially if they picked out on their own. NICE clearly said "use lab testing". GDR is preferred POC is lab testing unavailable. if you go back in old NICE documents, there was an analysis done and lab testing in batches worked out at £44 per test (including the device cost). Now I remember GDR's test was £85 per test (not including device cost I think), so lab testing in batches must surely be potentially a lot cheaper to me.

I think very telling that the trusts didn't really ask very much in final round of consultation. But agree, that there are still details we don't know, i.e on lab testing availability and timescales for scaling up.

AW, you should read the NICE stuff thoroughly. It sounds like they definitely happy with 5 days. Look back at old comments and responses document as well. The trusts hardly asked anything this time round as it was covered in the first comments document.

NICE approved the draft guidance. From reading documents as well as current ones I don't think they have to use a POC. They say "use lab testing." In one response previously, NICE said start a treatment and then change if lab test comes back advising this course. There may not be a definition/strict test of when trusts should decide lab tests are "unavailable". Possibly when lab test results won't come back within 5 days though, as 2-5 days mentioned. Another consideration is that lab tests for this are likely much simpler than for some of the stuff the genomic hubs have to do. Batching is mentioned previously, which sounds a lot like the kind of lab tests the contractors did during the pandemic with covid tests.
