Honest answer is none of us really know at the moment if GDR will get any sales from this or what they'll be. I think more likely they won't though. Reason being the NICE preference for lab testing and significant time it takes to roll POC out to so many hospitals (notwithstanding possible significant time to scale up lab testing).

PadRock, I don't think you'll get one for a while at least. If a big one suddenly appears then you know they've got some decent orders. But the 7,000 will be enough for them to satisfy any training/demonstration needs for the time being and any initial orders that appear. If this is total flop, that might turn out to be the biggest once that ever appears for this!

Definitely wouldn't be able to give them away Gloria. There are well over 1100 hospitals in the UK. POC devices tend to cost about £1000 to £1500 each.

Personally think it will be a problem for GDR if POC units are purchased and then hardly actually used in the end. Can't see that being a very profitable situation.

It's uncertain exactly how much/little GDR can get from this. But if you read the earlier NICE documents the detail is there as to why they prefer lab testing for this. The genomic hubs deal with different types of genomic testing as well, so not so clear cut.

It should be, but it's clearly the second option to lab testing. The trusts need to follow NICE guidance which means trying to get this done in labs first before considering anything else.

Gloria, they gave various reasons why they preferred lab testing. You have to look back at earlier draft guidance for the detail. It obvious they can just scale up lab testing through private sub-contractors.

I think "sub-contractors" is the big clue Gloria. A private company(s) will benefit from the increase in lab testing this brings about. GDR won't benefit very much if at all, as lab testing is NICE's preferred choice for this.

SP seems to always drop in November after results. But if they did achieve a significant order at any point, you bet they would RNS it straightaway!

No, the hospital didn't Gloria, it's just a lie. (unless he lives in Manchester where they've been testing it).

Perhaps overseas. Though wouldn't bet on it. Other countries could easily go same route as UK for this stroke test and favour lab testing. If it gets anything in the UK, unlikely to be much in my view.
