If you had listened to what Stars said (or indeed me, following him) rather than attacking thoughtlessly, you’d have been quids in, Stephen old chap.

The stock whose board you have been posing up was up almost 25% on Friday, and could well gap up even higher on Monday. They have had spectacular news.

If you’d spent money buying it then selling it now, (rather than just posting on there) you’d have had a nice little earner for just holding for a couple of weeks or so.

But then I’m the last person you would take investment advice from!

I don’t know if Stars is still reading this board, but if so “thanks for the tip!”

I remember an earnings call when he talked about renegotiating distributor deals. Something about how they were locked in and couldn’t get out of the relationship if they weren’t delivering anything.

I wondered then if this was a company I should invest in (although to be fair I bought in despite the red flags and made a nice little chunk of profit, so I shouldn’t moan about it!) because it seemed so…amateurish.

The same thought occurred to me with the RF deal which they thought they had been so clever about and it turned into a disaster. Tanking the share price whilst NOT delivering the funding security they needed.

Budd may be a good scientist (although I have doubts even about that sometimes) but he is completely out of his depth as a businessman and company leader.

Someone has to man the bring and buy sale stands they periodically wheel out at conferences, I guess?

That was a short lived spike, even for Genedrive. I hope nobody got sucked in, and those that wanted a breather from watching the sp decline day after day got out. To get back in at a lower price.

I’ve decided that it is utterly impossible to trade GDR long in the short term. (It’s been a stinking short for a while now, and some of the spike must have been shorts covering).

The spread is too wide, the liquidity too low, and the timing of the spikes completely impossible to predict.

If it were stable it would be a different matter. But it’s not. It either suffers a long slow decline or has short lived, spectacular spikes. So going long you can’t be in waiting for the next spike as your stop loss will get hit.

A trend reversal would be another matter, but I don’t see any reason for that at the moment.

Maybe I’m wrong and we are at the start of that??

How big is your position, Lionel1, at an average of circa 20?

None of my business if you don’t want to divulge, obviously but I’m guessing as a high new worth individual, it will be commensurately large?

Funny you should say that, Stephen1. I’ve just unearthed my next big thing. Though I say it myself, the concept is brilliant, and it came to me over the weekend..

It’s a US stock so I won’t be commenting on it on any UK stock message boards.

But don’t worry I’ll always have a bit of spare trading capital for fun stocks like GDR. So I’ll be checking this board for some time to come.

What does the company have to offer in exchange for the financing it needs to cover its huge costs if the current RF deal IS dead in the water?

It has to be a simply humongous dilution at a significant discount to the current price, no? What other options do they have? And we saw the impact of even a small dilution before.

AIM companies are so predictable. I thought this one was different but it doesn’t look like it.

Great product. Terrible management. Utterly incompetent.

(Maybe Budd will take a salary cut to help stem the out of control monthly cash burn? Oh wait…)

It’s getting pretty desperate when the company’s failed Covid test kit is warmed up in the microwave and trotted out.

Remind me, how many of these kits did GDR sell during a once in a century global pandemic?

I don’t know if they are no longer commercially available or not, but I do know that even if they were the company’s execrable sales and marketing departments wouldn’t manage to sell any of them.

What an opportunity missed. But then we have Budd at the helm so what can one expect?

Been away for a few days, and returning to this board the situation seems even worse, were that possible.

The big news is that the RF drawdowns seem to have stopped because the share price has breached the 16p threshold. I’m amazed that this hasn’t’t aroused more comment from the LTH’s. The silence on this matter is deafening after all. Don’t you guys care??

Can it be that you are not aware that the company is burning 4.8 million quid a year with no income from sales in prospect and no further funding in place?

All the while, the (admittedly first rate) products have to go through years of further testing before they can be sold in realistic numbers. If at all.

Where is the money to fund this company going to come from?

That’s exactly right, Gloria. The banning of Stars was utterly pathetic. I mean the stock has really been like a turbo charged rocket since he went down the memory hole. Not.

I guess the only thing to say is caveat emptor. A fool and his money are soon parted by the stock market, and anyone who listens to the asinine pumping on this board and takes a position off the back of it is, well, a fool.

I’m surprised the stock has held up as well as it has, actually. I guess the RF dumping has stopped for the moment? But there isn’t any serious buying to step into the breach either, so there’s a kind of Mexican stand off.

Which will be first, some positive news flow or some more newly minted shares to be dumped onto an illiquid market? We’ll see, but my money’s on the dumping.

It’s almost as though the company has given up. That exhibition stand was laughable.

I think it is more that they can blame him for their losses (by talking the stock down) rather than taking responsibility. Anyone who holds all the way down from 43 to 11 has only themselves to blame in my view. Better to face up to that or you’ll keep on repeating the error..

He didn’t talk the stock price down, anyway. The death spiral financing deal did that.

He affected them all because he was correct! He was a prominent long who became deeply sceptical and sold out before the stock lost half its value. Now he’s moved on to what looks to be a blockbuster over the next couple of months. It’s been doing really well ever since he bought it.

So some of the posters on here tried to get him kicked of their board! You couldn’tt make it up.

You’ve got the right idea about this stock, but IMO your timing is off. You’d be better trying to catch it back on the way up rather than trying to pick a bottom (assuming your stop loss gets hit).

This could easily hit 20, and was in the 40’s not so long ago. At 10 that’s a 2 - 4 bagger, and at 4 a

5 - 10 bagger.

Serious money if you can time it right.

But most of the posters on here have held all the way down so all is doom, gloom, despair and impatience.

There’s no rush. I’m waiting for the absolute bottom (which could be less than 8 frankly, there’s big pressure from River Fort dumping) and catching it on the way back up after the trend reversal..

Very very hard to find the exact bottom as (I think) you have discovered.

Such a relief. Now the sacrifice has been made the gods will have been appeased and the only way will be up for the Genedrive share price!

Actually it’s a bad sign for a board like this when nay sayers are banned. I’ve seen it before, It can become a self reinforcing echo chamber of posters who congratulate themselves on their long term holds as the price remorselessly falls. Anyone questioning the groupthink is driven out. The “madness of crowds” is the term I think.

If you were confident about your “investment” you wouldn’t care a hoot what anyone says on here.

I’m on this site for one reason only, and it is certainly not the joy of your and Big Al’s company.

This company can have quick, fast and large speculative run ups on news flow. We’ve all seen that although for some reason you seem not to sell into them. Preferring a “strategy” of buy low (?) and keep holding high. Jesse Livermore would be proud of you!

Most of the posts on the site are the sort of nonsense you and Big Al come out with, but I continue to skim read it to see if there might be a nugget that shows some possible future news flow that I might trade into.

Having said that by far the biggest data source is the action of the share price which I still monitor every day. But I like to be thorough even though this board is mostly deeply boring.

Anyway that’s enough time wasted on something that isn’t going to make me any money. Don’t bother to reply as I won’t read it.

They are incompetent and naive.

But not evil to be fair. Unlike some AIM company owners and managers. There is the potential for a successful business here if they knew what to do with some genuinely impressive medical technology.

I used to trade US penny stocks and they are the worst. So many truly wicked, scummy people who cheat novice retail investors out of their cash with pump and dump schemes fuelled by fraudulent press releases. But very clever. Such a shame that clearly considerable intellects aren’t used for better purposes.

GDR isn’t like that. They just don’t have the first clue how to run a successful company.

We all of us lose money on the markets. I’ve lost many hundreds of thousands over the years, but fortunately have made even more or I wouldn’t still be around. And it hurts. By God it hurts, far more than the pleasure you get from the wins. WHY did I do that??

But you have to accept responsibility for your many mistakes or you are done for. When you lose money you have only yourself to blame. No one forced you to buy GDR. There wasn’t a gun pointed to your head that prevented you placing a stop loss.

But a lot of people in the markets can’t cope with it psychologically. So they indulge in “projection.” They project the blame onto someone, or something else. Both Big Al and Stephen11 are projecting their anger at their GDR losses onto Stars. Rather than owning it themselves. They screwed up and they can’t forgive him for pointing it out. It was his fault.

It is pitiful to see.

(And a recipe for further losses by the way. You have to be in command of yourself emotionally to be a serious trader. If you can’t think straight you won’t trade straight).

The last thing I want is for this board, which seems pretty mature and sophisticated by the standards of these things, to descend into the banality and childishness of GDR. Which you are all getting an unwilling glimpse of. Trust me its always like this. A complete bear garden.

I was trying to protect someone who I thought was getting unfairly trashed, but it was a mistake and I bitterly regret my contribution to this nonsense.

Hopefully there is a way to delete all these messages as off topic, and cleanse this board. So everyone can return to talk about the exciting prospects of BUR.

Since you are on the BUR board anyway, check out the stock. It’s got a lot more going for it then GDR, that’s for sure.

Sell your current holdings before they sink even further. Bite the bullet and put it all into this company. Then you won’t have to make any little sojourns to more sensible investments from your current one. There’s no death spiral financing for Burford. Per contra, they are solid, profitable, with increasing revenue and a large portfolio of billions of dollars worth of unresolved litigation some of which get settled every quarter. And a continuous pipeline of new business too.

Above all there is huge potential upside from an extraordinary case they have conducted against the government of Argentina which has already been ruled in their favour. With the quantum to be decided any day now. So there is both short and long term opportunity here.

Because it has historically been so difficult to get Argentina to pay this potential is not reflected in the stock price.

Why have you sunk your capital in a dog like GDR when there are investments like BUR around?

First this is absolutely nothing to do with BUR.

Second, Stars was right about GDR and this poster is rather sadly bitter that he didn’t sell when Stars suggested he did. The price has cratered from 44 to 12 in a few short months so it would have been objectively sensible..
