One could only hope the Slovenian government had the same confidence in their country as many AST investors have shown.

May do nothing? Strange way to look at it. Threat of court action. Diplomatic pressure from the Ambassador. Pushing ARSO to do their job and issue the permits if they have been approved, which we understand they have been. Do nothing? Strange glass half empty way of looking at it.

By the way Reg, read the RNS again It says quote: "Your board has therefore resolved to explore commencing proceedings against the Environment Agency ("ARSO"), the Environmental Minister and the state of Slovenia directly in the EU courts.". That isn't saying they are taking court action. It uses the phrase 'resolved to explore'.

Energy security is part of national security. Look at Ukraine and the way Russia have messed with them.

Accessing local gas would do wonders for the national economy.

Get the Prime Minister involved. Before his Environment Minister really messes up the economy, national security and the environment.

So, the Minister is having another week off? Have heard that but don't know how true. If true then the news released last week by tweet was really quite malicious considering he will be on holiday and out of contact for two weeks. It would give the appearance of trying to force AST out of business by intentionally delaying a decision on the permits.

According to news items the permit(s) had already been approved by ARSO. The Minister had just been brought in to rubber stamp his approval. He went against all the experts at ARSO and, as an amateur environmentalist, decided to delay things just before he went on a two week holiday.

0.25p would be a very large dilution to get any reasonable sum of money raised. Clearly the SP needs to move up substantially beforehand to allow a higher fund raise price. That requires significant action tomorrow and next week in general from Colin and diplomacy from Sophie Honey. The Minister is the only problem here and he needs to be persuaded that the ARSO approval of the permits should be followed, as they appear to have approved them in the latest news articles and from twitter. Not awfully reliable sources but they haven't been officially denied.

No chance without the stimulation permits. No way INA would pay even 1p. That would be £23 million for two unstable wells desperately needing stimulation. They will just leave AST to stew until they ran out of money and then pick them up for next to nothing. AST need diplomatic pressure on the Minister.

INA is the only one in the SR who don't need the IPPC. But they still need the stimulation permits to get a stable gas flow. Without those permits what's AST worth? Even to INA?

Colin and Sophie Honey need to get the Minister to agree on the permits. He is the only obstacle as it would appear ARSO had in fact approved the permit(s).

I wouldn't 'expect' anything from Jure Leben. I would be disappointed if he didn't react to Colin and Sophie Honey, especially the Ambassador. I would hope for a reaction tomorrow but I think he may stall to get his point across. It's up to Colin to get on to the B.C. of C. and Sophie Honey to get some diplomatic leverage.

The simple answer could be because the Minister hasn't broken any Slovene laws. He only appears to be proposing a course of action which is within his remit as Environment Minister.

Is he breaking EU law? That's more debatable. The EU may require Slovenia to act in a way which his proposals contravene.

So let's not insist on an action which wouldn't work in practise.

Colin needs to get the SP up substantially from where it is to have a placing price that allows a decent fund raise without too much dilution. That requires the Minister to come back next week with a reasonable position on the permits. That will ensure a bounce in the SP to allow a reasonable placing price. Colin and Sophie Honey need to work some magic next week.

But AST don't have dusters do they? They're producing gas and just need a bit of investment and expertise to stimulate them to get a stable gas flow. That's all. It's bureaucracy we're up against here. And that is often immovable.
