Trde we all know about the Russian influence. I've been pointing it out on here for years. And have been roundly abused about it many times.

To prevent a major gas project going ahead because of a few abusive emails is clearly a nonsense. The emails were stupid but anyone could have sent them. Knowing this possible outcome many environmentalists in Slovenia would have sent them to create this excuse. It's absurd.

They are currently producing gas. They have the permit for that. It's the IPPC and, more importantly, the stimulation permits.

The JV partners are Slovene companies. They are probably more effected by this as they can't just move on as a foreign company can. AST provided finances for the country, the country bit the hand that fed them and now AST are moving out, quite rightly after being treated so badly. Furthermore the RNS stated that Ascent has been in talks with other companies looking to invest in Slovenia and pointed out the severe legal issues of doing so. Those other companies have been put off investing in Slovenia. Good.

Exactly right New_2. This whole situation is CLEARLY the fault of the Slovene government who have delayed and delayed for months and years even. Every time Colin has been faced with issues he has at least tried to deal with them. For example the removal of the permit by the Slovene court resulted in the deal for the pipeline to export to INA in Croatia. This is not all down to Colin and the BoD.

Having just returned from being away for over two weeks with limited internet access I have returned to this RNS. Considering the dire situation with the Slovenian government refusing to say yes or no to permits it is a good RNS.

The way forward for me now would be to run the Petisovci, Slovenia project to create sufficient income to run itself, look at legal action to deal with the permitting issues and to move on to another project. That is exactly what the RNS says. Croatia would be good as AST have already had a lengthy relationship with INA and there are projects available there, according to the RNS.

A very good RNS for the way forward considering the extreme procrastinating in Slovenia. They had no intention of allowing the permits with their misguided environmental concerns and were just obfuscating until AST had to make a move.

Look at his Twitter account. It's obvious. He's building a reputation as the great environmental saviour. Well, it's obvious to me.

He doesn't care about Ascent, otherwise he would have met Colin. He only cares about his environmental concrrns, however misguided when gas is better for the environment than coal or nuclear.

Jure Leben is an environmental zelot. I thought you would have seen that by now. He needs 'persuading' (legal threat or otherwise) or a decision from higher authority, the PM. He's not saying yes and he's not saying no, for fear of legal action against him. He's just prevaricating. Can't you see that?

I would say the rent on that address would be pretty high. Quite irresponsible for AST to pay rent on such an address would you not think? Clearly you didn't think. Where would they get the money from? You would certainly be asking.

Meeting with the Prime Minister? I think you have more belief in his ability to access high office than most would have. Even the Environment Minister is waiting till he's good and ready. You want the 'no deal' option? In this case that would mean AST is out of Slovenia. Colin needs to tread carefully and not blunder in with no meaningful leverage.

Interesting that he studied at Oxford Brookes University. His command of English will be very good and Colin should be able to get on well with him without translation issues. He seems to be someone who believes in action and not just words.

In your previous post on the other thread misiekm your first step was: 'fund raise rejected'. You now say AST would have another EGM for a fund raise for a court case when a fund raise (in your opinion) would already have been rejected? Because they're too many unknowns currently? So we don't trust the BoD now but will do later? You expect we'll have fewer unknowns later? Hope you're right. But it is a very convoluted reasoning. Now where else have I seen that recently?

Much simpler to vote for the option of a fund raise at Tuesday's GM. If you don't trust the BoD I suggest you're invested in the wrong company. I actually do trust Colin. I just don't trust the Slovenian government to treat us fairly and according to their own laws.
