Slovenia are clearly not a viable concern despite their website about foreign investment. It clearly wouldn't pass scrutiny by the advertising standards authority or anyone else.

Okay, so you'd prefer AST were in debt and had the plug pulled on them at that time then? Better no debt, pull up the drawbridge and get out without debt and go elsewhere. They still have PG10 and PG11a producing gas, however little, to cover the costs. When Slovenia is ready to enter the 21st century AST could get on with stimulating the wells for stable gas production. That's dependent on the SLOVENIAN GOVERNMENT and not AST. AST have NO say in being able to produce stable gas. It's entirely down to the Slovenian Government. Entirely. Get it?

Even if AST were to win a case Slovenia would likely not abide by the outcome of the case. They don't follow their own laws why would they follow the EU's?

We've had brinkmanship from Slovenia for over four years. About time for a bit of certainty somewhere where the laws actually apply.

Money for investing elsewhere? Well we've just had a vote at an EGM. The prospect of investing Croatia could well raise the SP enough for that. Depends how it's put to the market and where the investment would be for.

A mediator would be good. But essentially Slovenia will now be on the back burner for AST. Petisovci gas should cover it's costs while they go elsewhere to invest, possibly Croatia. Four and a half years or more and we have reached this stage? Give me strength. Dump Slovenia. Get out with no debt and small income to keep the wells going. Bye bye Slovenia.

The problem is that Slovenia wants to suck up to the Russians. Nothing else will be allowed to get in the way of that. Member of the EU? Really? Only Britain worries about legalities in the EU. Slovenia would have no trouble in leaving the EU if they wanted to. They would just ignore all EU decisions. In fact they don't need to leave. They just ignore all EU requirements.

WHYAST it's all politics. They don't want the gas as it may spoil their pristine countryside, despite the fact that Petisovci has been producing gas for decades. They just want to suck up to the Russians. In the EU? What's that? Only Britain gets wound up about the legalities of that.

Oh it's very relevant to me misiekm. But then I think it's the fault of the Slovene government and not Colin. Unlike many here who think it's just all Colin's fault and little to do with government delays.

I'm sure you're right WHYAST. I haven't seen it but I know how politicians and journalists twist things. And you can be sure the Slovene journalists will not be anti their government like ours would be. It's what used to be called propaganda.
