On HL/hmrc

HL would trade anything for anyone but for some reason hmrc objects to certain stocks. For instance there are stocks I can hold in US in my SIPP but cannot hold same stock in Frankfurt in my ISA…It’s a bit messy. Are hmrc trying to stop movement of companies’ main listings to Frankfurt? Think it’s political and it stinks like a lot of stinky things in UK.

Will rebuy Tui in Frankfurt when I think time is right. May have to use other broker.

Bit of an emotional day yesterday. Good when stuff you believe in goes up. Played with numbers of hangars all day. Think need to change tactics and stop taking capital gains/stop trading and sit…. or at very least confine trading to ISA and SIPP.

Very much hoping we stay well away from 5£.

Yes! Saves checking out forex rates continuously. Otoh wish had sold all US stocks during Truss period and immediately converted to GBP. What a wonderful thing is hindsight…..

Hope this is helpful. At IG you pay forex commission of 0.5% on spot rate if deal is £10k plus. Anyone dealing with HL I suggest you pick up phone and negotiate rates. More stuff going to Frankfurt so probably worth a go :)
