Yes, there is much more to VAST than the diamonds but we seem to have become obsessed with them. Have to say that Monday's update was pretty poor in terms of how things were stated and inconclusive. I've messaged Investor Relations to ask them to clarify whether the loan has actually been extended or not. It's pretty poor form to leave the market guessing. I expect that it has but there should be formal confirmation to the market, surely.

I'm no fan of politicians but I think the sanctions will probably mean that the Russians get less for their diamonds which I guess the politicians will be happy with.

I think AP needs to say something about where things are currently at - even it is just confirming or otherwise that the diamonds have been handed over or that the loan extension is now in place. The wording of Monday's update left things in limbo.

Confirmation of loan extension on reasonable terms

Return of the diamonds and reasonable valuation

Confirmation of Zimbabwe JV

Confirmation of funds from Takob

Positive update on BP together with resource upgrade

It's not all going to happen by tomorrow afternoon but lots of positive news to look forward to.

Can't criticise anyone for banking profit but a strange time to do it.

If there was a major issue here then the lenders wouldn't be so patient - AP will have had to give them some reassurances and a timescale to satisfy them. I can be as impatient as the next person but I think that there's a rational explanation to why we haven't heard anything since Monday (only 3 days ago).

The focus on the return of the diamonds is clouding some folks judgement IMHO. We're just as likely to hear about Takob or BP than we are about AP having the stash of diamonds.

I think that you could be right, Twenteen. I reckoned after Monday's update that we wouldn't hear anything for a few days. The valuation would need to be done before the deal is extended. So I'd say that the lenders have enough info to go along with the plan and to hold back any unpleasantness!

Don't know about fishy - personally, I think that it's a positive that the lenders haven't immediately forced a deal and taken advantage of the situation (look at what happened last year). There's clearly a lot to factor in and I think that the diamond situation is key to how long an extension will be given. Hate to say it but, remember, it is Zimbabwe... patience required!

Let's hope that they wait for the sp to re-rate before they take that amount in shares!

Well done, ASI - I don't have the temperament to do what you did in that timescale. Have to agree with IQ though... boasting is distasteful. I've only been interested in VAST for a short time but even I know that there are some here who have lost fortunes. Poor show!

Sorry asi - I've been out of action for a wee while. Did an RNS state that the diamonds were being sold by tender?

So they've already said all that - can't see any further obligation to advise the market that AP is in Zimbabwe having further negotiations?

Asi - the journalist didn't even quote a source. What you say about journalists may well be your experience (and you may have sued one or two?) but I wouldn't claim that all journalists verify everything they write or that everything that they write is factually true.

Some journalist said that it was going to tender in what was a very short article... I wouldn't take that as fact. It's a fact that it is in an article but I wouldn't take any journalist's statements as fact!

This is a discussion board - not a fact exchanging board. I'm very happy to hear anyone's views on what might happen with this share. I'd draw the line though where someone is stating untruths... speculation is fine... after all who here knows the future?

Asi - what's the advantage in doing it by tender? Is it quicker to get the cash?
