RE: Another month gone…..5 Aug 2021 00:27
I am guessing, but I think the timing of GM's leaving(retirement) has been quite carefully planned.
He would clearly like to go out on a high(who wouldn't). But the buck for the DHSC debacle had to stop with him, which I think will ultimately end with a positive resolution sometime before he goes. (The new guy would surely not want to be the one have to deal with the outcome of something disastrous...would anyone want to take that on?)
The second phase of the DHSC contract(the potential game changer) isn't going to happen quite as anticipated. As such there isn't going to be a £800m or so CASH bonanza to splash out on lucrative acquisitions to EASILY drive the business forward to mid cap status. (which was GM's plan)
The business is still however VERY sound and generating lots of revenue, but the growth will now be as a result of a concerted sales and marketing drive. A new man at the helm was needed for this. Either GM didn't think he was the man for the job, or just didn't have the inclination, OR, the rest of the board thought they needed some new blood who was better placed to drive the business forward given the current circumstances. We know from GM's RNS's sales and marketing are NOT his expertise.
Will the new CEO change this?, will he get us listed on a US market?, will he take us to Midcap status?
Hmm...hope so.
