You find that those who have self control and have never been directly or indirectly affected by gambling addiction , or any other kind of addiction, are the loudest voice in opposition to anything to better regulate it. Could also have a financial interest in a gambling company too.

Gambling causes significant harm to a lot of people. Just because you are not effected by it doesn't mean it shouldn't be regulated better than it is.
