Thanks Yuri. Just to clarify, I used the same calcs as Miningmaven, simply adjusted strike length and width. This produces 31Moz using a grade of 2g/t, not 81Moz. They also a value of $200 per oz.
I realise their article was 'paid for' - one would assume by Greatland so I can only go on what was published.

Jerry. I take your point re dimensions but I was trying to be conservative. Size gets a little rampy otherwise - just adding 200m to depth creates 41.6Moz at 2g/tonne.

The only thing I've changed from the Mining Maven calculation is strike length and width. Assumptions for grade and price per oz are the same as they used (and were paid for using in that article).

ProfQ - I've also been having a think in terms of numbers / values, although it's purely guesswork until we have anything confirmed.
The current accepted resource size 450 length x 150 width x 600 depth.
Based on Paddysat I've made what I think is a conservative assumption, just for fun and maybe a conversation piece.
Assuming we now have 900 x 300 x 600 that would give a figure for contained oz (assuming 2g/t) of 31,254.019 oz.
At $200 p/oz thats approx 1.87 billion value to GGP.
Like I've said, it's just an educated guess but it gives me some idea of where we might end up.

Takeover fixation just seems to suit the agenda of some. I'm not saying it won't ever happen but it makes little or no sense at the present time.

In the space of about a week, it appears we have gone from expectations of 5-10moz to bonkers 60moz superpit comparisons; a mutually beneficial JV to hostile takeover; predictions of 10p and now £1 plus.
I can only assume we are collectively suffering some form manic lockdown fever.
Yes, the sat images and drilling to date suggest we have a biggy but it's still early days - we don't even have an MRE yet.
Remember, Newcrest entered in to this agreement (6 years originally?) with their eyes wide open. If the resource proves to be far larger than they anticipated then they will already have done very well. If they were originally anticipating say, 5moz and it turns out to be 20moz or whatever then they've acquired 70% of 4x the resource for no extra cost commitment.
I don't anticipate any form of takeover at this time as they can already earn an extra 30% for, in effect, peanuts. Why bid and potentially risk a bid from another party? Makes no sense to me at this stage.
Hopefully we'll get a much clearer idea of progress at the end of the month. For now, I'm perfectly happy letting them drill away as it all appears to be adding to our value.
Re Scallywag, I have no reason to think the delay is for any other reason than that stated. We have the funds and we'll get to it in due course.
In the meantime if anything comes out of left field then it could get interesting. Personally I'm not expecting it.

Hi Torham. Stage 3 includes delivery of a PFS + minimum spend. They could in theory spend twice as much as required but Stage 3 only completes on PFS

12 months would be outstanding green. Bearing in mind they are not planning to start the decline until late 2020 / early 2021 then mine construction within around 3 months of that?? Would be great to see the source for this fact. I was merely going by Newcrest guidance

Whilst its nice to see a rising gold price, I'm not sure to what extent this affects the 'in ground' value at Hav or it's value to us at the moment.
Assuming we stay the course then clearly we benefit although we are 2/3 years away from producing.
If NC buy Hav I'm guessing there's some complicated formula which takes into account the whole shebang - life of mine; goldprice cycle etc etc.
Either way it's all good, but I'm not going to get too hung up on current spot price. Let's get the huge deposit proved up first and then we can speculate on price.

Nice to see some constructive advice / comments on here today.
Maybe another angle to consider when pondering the oh so difficult problem of when to sell / top slice. Ask yourself, would you buy at whatever price it is? If you're not a buyer at, say 10p, then maybe consider selling a few. There is nothing worse than seeing a paper profit wiped out due to something coming from left field.
I do take a lot of confidence here from the fact that we've held up remarkably well in the current climate.
As we're all in lockdown at the moment, I've also taken the opportunity to re-read Newcrest reports and presentations. It's very easy to get carried along with hype / positivity; whatever you want to call it. I find it useful to have a mental 'declutter' once in a while to remind myself why I'm invested here and what the future may hold.
Still very confident but Newcrest have an awful lot of work to do yet. End of April, I believe, will be the most important update yet. I'm hoping that we get some idea of the extent of the resource in addition to further outstanding results.
Paddysat is excellent (cheers PG) as it clearly demonstrates that Newcrest are not simply infilling the 450x150x600, but are exploring outwards.

tom - too many variables to be any where near accurate. I think its probably safe to say that the current strike length of 450m and the current width of 150m have been blown out of the water
