Good morning all. RNS this morning is an administrative one relating to the Bahamas Fund. It's good HNWIs based in the Bahamas are now stakeholders in our company and their future oil prospects. I found the last sentences in the RNS very good. I quote, with my CAPS for emphasis...

'As I have discussed in recent days, we are operationally READY to begin the drilling of the Perseverance #1 well, targeting 0.77 billion barrels of oil. With the signing of an UNCONDITIONAL rig contract, the Company has confirmed a specific window between 15 December 2020 and 1 February 2021 in which drilling WILL commence. We eagerly await the start of this drilling programme and I look forward to updating shareholders on our progress in the NEAR FUTURE."

Most first posters state stuff such as, 'hello this is my first post and i was wondering if I should buy shares in BPC vs Apple', or.... 'how much will the SP increase on spud.' Your first post was a polite version of , 'I don't wont to appear rude, but do you folks know where you will drill? Is it near the 'D' or nearer the other-side of the 'O'?' xxx

Noviceinv, I answered the question earlier and provided a reference source. However Bluesky disagrees. I don't think it matters too much who's right, other than this afternoon I feel as happy as a free range Christmas Turkey on a vegan farm.....based on what is logically coming next. BTW Bektash Manavi (RNS today), has done a double bet the SP will increase. We don't know how long his CFD derivative is in play, however if the SP increase substantially, he will make an absolute fortune and hedged this bet by owning BPC and CERP shares. The guy's got 'big ones.'

However, I totally agree with you that the three recent 1% and 3% disclosures were purchases undertaken over a period of days or weeks. Not overnight.

I imagine other pension funds worldwide have a similar balanced portfolio including a flutter on higher risk/higher reward opportunities which BPC/CERP clearly is.

Invest: yes. Refer to carscoffee posts from a week or so ago. He stated he bought couple of hundred thousand quid in CERP, partly to hedge a lower BPC price. I see no doubt to question his assertion based on the quality of his posts.

However, i would question someone who appears from nowhere giving no rationale stating, 'I just bought a million pounds of shares because this share will triple in 2 weeks'

J-Black, it doesn't quite work that way. The persons that breached the 1% holding and had to report it today, could have been sitting on 0.99% until yesterday. Or used 2 different entities to keep it quiet, however I see these disclosures as a public signal of confidence in imminent RNSs and the merger.

Bespoke: yes. There's been some excitement on the BPC forum. Please refer.

Investo: you are technically right. The biggest risk being if merger fails. However, Schroeders are selling CERP in chunks whenever price and volume increases.

Mr Manavi (who I think could be 'our' carscoffee but I may be wrong), has also invested heavily in CERP and BPC today. His investments include CFD derivatives with a flutter 'long'. This shows he believes the share price of both companies will go up. He did invest heavily in CERP in 4th quarter 2015 as well.

I believe positive RNSs are imminent. Pension funds (especially owned by British police!) do not gamble substantial funds without due diligence justification. Furthermore, Mr Manavi's flutter is huge.

However, there's only so much availability for BPC/CERP shares. Around 3.3 billion yes. But a combined c£100m market cap today, is not a lot to go round if the big boys want to play.

Jim, you have totally misunderstood my post. Please read again. However I totally agree that everyone needs to be careful relying on BB opinions and they should do their own research. I stand by every post I've written. I quote facts, 3rd party references and when giving opinions i often qualify them with words such as 'possibilities', 'probabilities', 'assumptions' or the equivalent. Have a good day.

Here are the facts:
On 12/6/20 J M Finn disclosed to owning more than 1% of BPC. The regulatory announcement must be done within 1 working day of the event occurring.
On 11/6/20 J M Finn clearly topped up following the merger announcement and wanted the markets to know.
Had they not topped up on 11/6, the 12/6 RNS would have been earlier.
I do not know J Finn's short, medium or long-term strategy relating to BPC, and respectfully neither do you.

June 2020: 'The Columbus Directors, who have been so advised by VSA Capital Limited as to the financial terms of the [BPC/CERP] Merger, consider the terms of the Merger to be fair and reasonable. '

March 31 2020: ....'We [VSA Capital] reiterate our [CERP] Buy recommendation and target price of 21.6p/sh'. My key point 1: CERP/BPC BoDs and their advisors such as VSA Capital CLEARLY know of stuff going on behind the scenes, not as yet in the public domain. I believe some very good RNSs will follow very soon.

My key point 2: Leo's throwaway comment , said in good faith, in his recent interview stating a possible market cap of £500m on successful Persv-1 was geared to a CERP audience, who would have seen their 2p SP being potentially worth a substantially amount more in 2021. It was not geared to a BPC audience who have an expectation of at least $1 in market cap increase OVERNIGHT per 1 barrel oil potentially discovered after spud. ( eg, 1bboe = $1 billion market cap overnight PLUS the increased potential of oil being found next door in same structure)
