It's a vicious circle - relatively new aircraft being bought up for spares in a market where there's a huge backlog of orders and shortage of aircraft for growth, also driving up maintenance costs. The salvage industry is outbidding airlines for 2nd hand jets ✈️

"At the same time, we're trying to speed up the engine replacement process. Previously, it took perhaps 17 days; today, with such high global demand and all facilities at capacity, it can take up to a year from engine disassembly to reassembly.
