NM has said on a number of occasions the share price is worryingly low. Unfortunately for him and SOLG not only has he ran out of time to get the share price higher through drilling results but he won't even get Cornerstone votes. If he had any information he would have shared this by now, seeing how BHP / Newcrest can now, should they want, get SOLG on the cheap (anything between 50 and 70p) through their stakeholding and buying CGP. This is a more realistic scenario than NM taking this to production. From every previous post here, I think most investors would take that deal. Those thinking of £1+ are dreaming

If that's right then that's a very big deal. Broker note of that big of a bank very likely means there is corporate activity happening in back ground. Exciting times!

FFS Quay, as Fruitbat said many times, it is what he has heard and sharing it to the chat. Brokers share news that they have heard all the time. It very plausible that a broker would share this with their clients too.

Ha... Duffer was out of SOLG on 28th July and was looking for a retracement to 23/24 before getting back in... and now says he sold out at 27p. You can't make this up! Paper trading going well ol' boy?!?! LOL

Swazers good luck if you are short SOLG. If you are, you are def out the money and should be worried there are catalyst coming. SOLG is failing to break above the 50 day moving average where, no doubt some are taking profits. You might even short it, but with catalysts on the horizon and gold and copper going higher, I think your scanners can do better and pick better shorts (at least I hope for you). If this breaks resistance its moving up fast. I also suggest you do similar to IAG and look at the new uptrend that is in play in SOLG. No doubt you were long at 218 last week in IAG and it's at 211 now. You win some you lose some. SOLG direction of play has changed... better shorts out there.

Wow swazers from one technical person to another you really are making a t*t of yourself. Stop. This has cleared the 50, 100 and 200 MA on the daily. It had a hammer on Friday. You do not want to be short this right now. I thought it would retrace and I was wrong. I bought more on technical picture. I suggest if you are short then cover....

Phatrader my exact thoughts. He was questioned a number of times about dilution and he lied. How do trust anything he says. NM now can only do what he does best and explore. I too we get successful drilling results but also hope that come October we get bought out. While NM was successful in Alpala he is also the cause for ballooning SOLG to over 4bn shares through options for himself which havent always worked out (40p options to expire). If anything is of guarantee with SOLG, NM will dilute further, successful drilling results or not. At these levels however SOLG is a trading buy.

pretty clear from the wording that the majority in Cornerstone are not going to sell. As they won't then the bid for Cornerstone will fail. Doesn't take a genius to figure that out. Those that are saying SOLG have Citi working for them, forget that there are a number of investment banks out there too. Citi are not specialists in Mining M&A. Macquarie / JPM / MS / GS to name a few have done more deals in Mining M&A than Citi. The share price is telling you, even after this news, that NM has to do more. Only thing he can do is to tell us about better drilling results. Without this, stock stays around this level and come October we are bought. Newcrest + BHP + Cornerstone already have the shareholding required to take SOLG out come October. I think NM is on his last life. If he gets lucky, then luck him and us. Otherwise he is out - and I see SOLG bought for 40-80p max. - and that suits me fine too.

Attempting to take this all the way to production is what has muddied NM's reputation. He has been great as an explorer and he should have cashed in along the way. He has ballooned the number of shares issued and this wont stop. Yes this may get to a higher share price at some point with NM at the helm but as a commentator pointed out very well, it will be with even more shares in issue.... we will get diluted. I see upside and hope we get taken out. This Cornerstone affair has been a massive waste of legal fees.

rouge knight, the institutional investor was himself... go check out the RNS and have a look at that fact. Who else has even turned up on the TR1? And it seems like you are taking every word literally that SOLG puts out and can copy and paste. I'm pretty sure you have never modelled a company either. Do you think, if that was the case, why every single analyst that covers SOLG has not increased their share price to match an evaluation equivalent to $3bn? LOL... Because that is not how you value a company... and nor does the market. You might need to go back to night school and learn how to evaluate a company.. doing a pretty crappy job so far.

Colonel, as I have said many times before on a DCF, today this is not worth $3bn, otherwise the market would have priced 80% of the value in already. It could be worth $3bn eventually given time. And of course this is when you get predators, when they do have the advantage of time and looking much further ahead because they have deep pocket and expertise. Two things that NM does not (he is not producer and one hire from NCM does not make the team that he needs). We can all agree this is way lower price wise than what it should be currently be priced at. I blame NM for that. I will of course take advantage of that, as and when I see price action dictate a change.. as I saw today. Tomorrow will be very telling. If NCM buy CGP' stake and then cooperate with BHP, then SOLG will not be taken out for much more than 80p (I'd expect a range between 50p-80p that is similar to a few brokers valuation of SOLG today). I can't see how NM can block that takeover. Can you?

BNC that's my point. It will take time for the drilling results to come back. I'm not sure he has time on his side, to keep SOLG under his control. NM is obviously talking his own book when he says NCM and BHP were not offered. More likely they refused to. The raise wasn't done well. NO other institutional institutional investor got involved. The only one we know of (and were eagerly waiting to hear from) was NM himself, through his own company. Was there others? I was definitely expecting someone else besides his own holding company to the 'institutional' investor. Ben saying for a while.. NM has to go. The last few webinars was to ramp the stock up. He got asked many times as to whether their would be a need for another raise and he said no at all those times. Not cricket in my book...
