Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Hello Swizz. How are you keeping ? Do you think we will hear some news soon. Very quiet at the moment. Nothing from Vevan either !!
Hello there Makeaboundle. Yes it requires a lot of patience waiting for something to happen here. There has to be an advantage to waiting for LG and Vevan. If not why not just advance the ECT case. One possibility is that LG and Vevan are in discussions with the DECC regarding their future plans. LG might be telling the DECC that unless the license is restored they will begin litigation in the courst to have it reinstated. LG and Vevan might also be examining whether they can go the ECT route now that Vevan is a Jersey based company. If Vevan have no legal right obviously then the next area to examine is whether Vevan can reverse into LOGP and put in an ECT claim for 100% of the damages. If in the end only LOGP can make a claim I see the Irish Government settling quickly so as to shut down the whole afffair and not get bad publicity. Perhaps LOGP and the Irish Government can agree to a decent but modest settlment. 50-75M for example. Anyway let us see what Swizz thinks. He has a better handle on all this !!!
Hello there Cash. Whilst this all sounds good I hope they do not do the same thing as they did in Amryt. I held for many years and originally the market cap was around 80-100 million. It was sold for circa 1.4bn. Looks great on paper. But if you dig deeper not so great. So share price was around 20-24 pence at launch. Then they did the reverse take over of algerion (1 for 6 dillution). Then the did the Nasdaq ADR 5 for 1 conversion. And then they merged with Chiasma with further dilution. I worked it out before and I made just 67% over the entire 6 years. So not the huge return that the market cap growth from 80m to 1.4bn would suggest. Also they gave themselves generous options at each stage of these consolidations and mergers. So original shareholders did not get a great deal. I want Poolbeg to first partner their existing POLB-001 so that we the existing shareholders who have taken the risk will be rewarded by the increase in market cap. Poolbeg does not urgently need cash so they should wait do a partnering deal and thereafter look at new products. I only see a benefit if any new in-licensing is on a royalty basis or for very small fee or a very small dilution.
Hehe funny Flashgarden. Agree with your sentiment. Thanks Swizz for the update and hope you are feeling a bit better after your recent sad news. It takes time to deal with a loss. Anyway we all hope to see something soon. This saga has gone on too long and unless something concrete for example a reversal of the DECC decision or a JV with Vevan, then I think we should begin with the ECT course and not waste time.
Will be an interesting month or two Ceph. Fingers crossed some good news will come our way !!!
Yes Ceph bang on with your summary of the situation. So what are LOGP and Vevan up to. I believe there are discussions ongoing with a tie up between Vevan and LOGP probable. ER is a cad and his own sense of self importance will be challenged at some stage. I believe the DECC will reverse the decision having already told ER and the government that the prior decision to not award the license will not stand up in a court. aIf no reversal of DECC decision a Judicial review will be undertaken and the ECT route will be dangled in parallel
Morning Flashgarden. Agree with your sentiment. Just wondering how Ryan and DECC can justify gas development for EOG et cetera and deny BOE and LOGP. Does EOG have the 100s of milliones in place required as per ERs non-legally binding green criteria that was applied to Barryroe ? I would say no. This I believe provides additional ammo for a judicial review or an ECT claim unless ER and DECC reverse their decision. Regards
Hello there Swizz. Very sorry to hear that. It puts things in perspective. Losing a loved one is a big blow. Take care of yourselves.
Hello Moniman. I think the partnership deal for POL-001 will take time as more IP patents are filed amongst other things. It will be a blockbuster and we want to get a fair reward. I also get the impression that Poolbeg will look for Orphan status for Polb-001 and if this is granted it makes the route to market much quicker and Polb-001 much more valuable to Poolbeg. So in the meantime the company must look to in licensing some other revenue generating drug or doing a deal on some of the AI stuff. Wonder when we might get a result on the trial of the oral delivery mechanism for the metabolic drug of the Nasdaq listed company.
Hello there Swizz. Hope you are ok have not seen you comment for a while. Any thoughts on what is going on here. Take care
Hello Moniman. Positive updates are all well and fine but as you have pointed out before the market wants to see deals done. Show me the money !!!. Come on Guys get on with things. MMs will keep on marking it lower in the hope of getting cheap shares in the absence of concrete progress.
Hello Cash. Was away in India getting married. Back now. All good with me. I think 2024 will be a great year here. Polb-001 is a real jewel. Believe we will have some competition amongst the big players. Dave´s reference and quick answer to where the POLB-001 focus now lies is indicative in my opinion of considerable big pharma interest. The Poolbeg board management understands the valeue of this product. I expect a deal by March and I believe it will be a good one. What would be excellent would be an aquisition without an equity give away of an orphan drug based on a royalty fee. Like the one Amryt did with Algerion for Lujuxta some years back.
Hello Cash. Agree with you the rise will come. So we are also going to enter the Orphan drug space if deal talks come to fruition it seems. This aside Polb-001 is a gem. Jeremy mentioned Roche a few times. Perhaps they will do a deal with us on Polb-001, Would be nice to have a few competing bids
Nothing yet. Hoping for news soon !!
Hello there MB. With luck things will move along at a quicker pace shortly. Like you we are all fed up waiting.
Hello Makeabundle. I think ER is going to end up in deep doo doo !!
Morning Battle. I imagine we should be hearing sonething very soon. My guess is BOE reversing into Logp. Wonder where Swizz is. Would like to hear his opinion.

Agree with you Moniman. Would prefer no share options and direct purchases. Hopefully 2024 will bring us some good news.
Hello Moniman
How are things with you
I believe there would be an issue with DA buying shares at present, particularily if we have comprehensive news on partnering deals in the near term. Ths is what CF said recently. I imagine as happened with Amryt once the first deal is over the line the management team will be given some share options. And yes it would be nice to see them exercise the share options
