Quite a good day for once :) Does anyone here study charting in shares? I've been watching a few vids trying to figure out how it all works and it seems simple enough but do charts realy help that much? Some chartists have been saying the next big leg down was coming this week because of what the charts showed but they are being proven wrong with the FTSE and Dow going higher. Have I just answered my own question?

TMT I suppose its a tricky situation knowing what to do in these circumstances, my main reason for posting it was to highlight that it seems as though people can be reinfected which is very bad especially as people are suffering from issues long after they were found to be virus free? Maybe this is why we wont be different than other panemics and will have a 2nd major wave come the winter which could kill far more, I dont want to be all doom and gloom I just want people to know that there is still a real risk of this getting way worse than we thought it would, hopefully due to the times we live in now we wont suffer the worse case scenario and to be honest with medical advances etc I have more hope for that not happening? Just stay safe people and if all comes good then we will all be laughing :)

I agree TMT imperfect I suppose can be defined in different ways. Tradingplaces I know this was a bit of a long thread but it does correlate to IAG, these boards talk about many other things that maybe dont seem IAG related but indirectly are. As has been mentioned the postivies or negatives for the vaccine will 100% make a difference to IAG so its imo ok to talk about it plus to be honest I hate it when people complain about others going off topic, its called having a conversation with other investor minded people about other things in life.

You're far from alone in the vaccine fear issue, many can see the issues with them rushing it through, we have been discussing it on the IAG chat board in more depth but non of my family or friends I know will take it anytime soon.

Whats funny about that is you can literaly see him now saying those exact words "Haha I'm the president again and you cant do anything about it"

@whatamess I think the question thats now on everyones minds is when do you think your price target of about 80p will hit assuming Trump does miraculously have a vaccine as you think could happen? I think you'd agree that there would be a big boost to IAG's sp short term with maybe a gradual decline till things pick right back up but surely if you think there will be a vaccine before November you'd be better owning IAG now OR do you see something else happening before then to push the sp down ;)

Oh dont get me wrong it wont surprise me if they do I just cant see it happening as surely if its "Fake vaccine news" It could cause major issues? Time will tell but until then make sure non of you inject yourselves with disinfectant! One thing I think we will all agree on is the next 6 months are going to be very interesting assuming we are all alive that long as the way 2020 has turned out so far Neowise will probably hit something and coming crashing into us! On that note make sure you all go out a view it sometime, it looks amazing!

@TMT "Even if we have a rushed and imperfect vaccine" That word imperfect is one that should never be used in any vaccine talk, just a quick google of vaccines gone wrong shows you how bad things could get if they mass vaccinate people and then realise ooops we have an issue? Maybe thats the plan, assuming you like conspiracies? It would be great if they do manage to pull a rabbit out of the bag and produce one thats effective and safe as that benefits us all and not just health wise but also monetarily :)

Exactly, when you look into the history of how long vaccines take to produce "Safely" Then imo this rush to get one could lead to major health issues! I'm not saying it wont work I just have major reservations about it being safe. This isn't like taking a tablet which can give you side effects you are literaly infecting your body with any unknown entity that has not been fully tested, they are still learning about it so how the hell can you make a safe vaccine from something you dont even fully understand yet? FDA can do one, if you think they wont rush one through for the "Economy" You're wrong all imo :) As for a one being rushed through before the election, I cant see it to be honest as its to obvious and most of not all scientists saying there will be one before next year at the earliest but again nothing would surprise me in the times we live in now, the world is effing nuts! One thing that is for sure is the bounce in the markets when one is announced will be one we have never seen before!

"Mandatory vaccination" Yea good luck with that, I for one wont be taking any rushed through vaccine no matter what threats they try to fire at anyone not getting it! I honestly dont see this as a viable option anyway as the more people you talk to the more say they wont be taking it.

The thing that scares the life out of me is the safety of this so called vaccine they are rushing through! They can bang on all they want about how tests are done with the safety of the patients in mind but they miss the vital point, time, it takes time to know the real outcome of any vaccine, just because it could help protect from getting covid doesn't mean it wont have effects they dont know about long term which is the real scarey part. They already think that catching covid is causing after effects for months if not years to come so what will this vaccine they are rushing through do if something is not detected due to it being "Rushed" I for one wont be taking any vaccine anytime soon.

Apples mc is crazy but then again if people are stupid enough to pay over a thousand for a phone then what do you expect. Tesla is defo one interesting company, I've watched Elon Musk on Joe Rogan and hes an interesting individual to say the least. The thing with Telsa for me is that it seems to be jumping up far to quick to sustain such a movement but I dont mind being proved wrong. Anyway before I/we get told off for talking about another share on this board we'll leave it there. Interesting chat.

Bricks I agree that tech is certainly the way thinsg are going and also on how far ahead Tesla is of the field but nothing like that rise can be sustained no matter how much positivity. Tesla will be a great share to own in coming years but a good share has to be steady as she goes not a rocket ship. Time will tell how things go but I remember the same convos back in 2000 when everyone thought the internet could never loose and we know what happened there. The P/E ratio of some of the tech stocks is scarily op! Interesting to see what happens in coming days, weeks, months etc.

Well this boards full of joy and happiness today! On a different topic is anyone watching Tesla? Its nuts whats happening there, it wouldnt surprise me if it keeps going up for the time being as the whole world has gona nuts! The Nasdaq actualy hit an intraday of 11k! If i had to give a yes or no answer to is it going to be a carcrash (See what I did there, thanks G-man) Then yes 100% Its going to be a bloodbath once reality kicks back in. Anyway cheer up you lot :)

If you are deciding what to do about buying or selling any share then maybe wait until Tuesday as US bank earnings reports will show how bad or not as bad things actually are, then theres the 66% of S&P company results due between July 20 and July 31st.

Dont get mixed up with the Nasdaq hype as just looking at Teslas chart among a few others theres only one thing thats going to happen there once reality kicks back in and its not going to be pretty.

My reason for posting US news or info is its can have a major impact on stocks and shares no matter what country. HTH in some way.
