I go out on the razzle on a Tuesday night and rarely get home until about 01.00 hrs. Then have to watch Newsnight and the papers so have to have a duvet day on Wednesday. Old man you see. Anyway the vessel got a bit crumpled in the storm and is in for repairs at vast expense. Will not be ready to go until May.... Nice to see the rise here. Highlight of the week now though now is the ' Canal Diaries' on BBC . Madam Spin is mean lock winder!! Tempted to buy a boat and sail off nto the sunset.... Next stop Apolloduck to see whats up for grabs. I am usually half cut on a Tuesday night anyway on low alcohol Ghost Ship!!

I have spent to whole weekend considering the way forward. On Friday I sold a few with the option to buy back if there was a fall. There was not and this morning I sold a load more. I still have loads more I am holding. I have two years of cash in the event of a stock crash and expect the Ukraine situation to get much worse. What Putin has started the world will now finish. It will take time and possibly prove very messy. Europe has let its guard down and misread the Russians. The Usa is far enough away to play the field and China is walking a high wire trying to protect its food and oil supplies while protecting it manufacturing base. It cannot afford a slump in either. I visited Czechoslovakia and Poland when it was under the Russians. I learnt a lot and my friends there hated the Russians. Fifty years from now they will never be forgiven.. Fortunately I no longer worry. It is forthe next generation to resolve but the econonic fall out will wreck many's happy retirements. I have never seen so much geo politcal inter connectivity. Assad visit SA. SA bombs Yemen ect ect and as for Afghanistan it is hardly mentioned.. Oh well I think the update will be good and my cash can join the rest.

I have added a few today. Not expecting to see a reversing of the trend today but needed to rebalance my portfolio. Logic is a bit out of the window at present. Time is not a problem at the moment as not many bargains about to tempt poor old Spin. Not impressed with Barclays though..... Their man with a pin seems off the mark..

I think we are in for the long haul on ups and downs. There is no more room to stick pins in my effigy of Vlad the Small so beware Sergei Lavrov your name is on the list!! Whatever the outcome of this conflict Russia must be sent back to the stoneage. The rest of the world must now look at the Disunited Nations and China Europe and the USA . It is not fit for purpose. Sadly the Germans the Eastern States must endure getting their strategy wrong on energy.. This is my fourth day of sitting on my hands. I think here 30p is a certainty ..

Been invested here for some years. Initially the dividends made it a hold but recently it has become a waste of time. The re organising of the bus system in manchester is fine but for the operators not so.. I sold some recently at a big loss. Managed to do a couple of trades which helped a bit but I am considering my options now. Will hold for a while as in truth I have written my money off here..
