Madam Spin is cultivating the balcony. Last few days it has been gale force 8 but today is quite nice. She ordered a load of things from some garden centre near Worcester!! and this week the compost arrived. No sign of the plants though!! She is working from home and driving me mad!! I dislike work and have avoided it for many many years....have to go off to the market now and be the good husband (Pay) Be good MSC Emma just arrived.. Don't tell chilting!!

Looks like the DOW will open about 500 points down.. Fear is beginning to raise its head again so once more one has to sit on the hands. Petroleum jelly at the ready.. Sold a couple of things earlier for a good return. Now it is the hard job of picking ones bottom. I had forgotten how frustrating and difficult day trading is... As soon as the weather gets a bit warmer I intend to jack it in. Told I can use my boat again at last!!

I do not live in NI. I did visit Belfast a couple of years ago by ferry from Cairnryan and visited the yard that built the Titanic (That sunk) and the Crumlin Road Gaol a tour of which I recommend. Sadly Madam Spin is a wearer of the green!! I totally agree that America will be interesting to witness. What though to me is more important is how we as a nation progress towards the new normality. So far the jury is out but as I walk around my town the growing impression I see and the conversations I hear are of growing worry on how to pay the bills and put the food on the table. It does not bear well for larger capital purchases like houses and cars.... My shares in Rotala are giving me concern too!! Fortunately when I sold my oil shares I climbed on my bike!! GL

It is strange. We live in different worlds. In Northern Ireland car sales in April did not even make three figures. Fuel at the pumps drops to a quid a litre and still the forecourts are empty (I have done 108 miles in seven weeks..) I wanted to rent a narrowboat but all the canals are closed fo navigation. The holiday companies closed for the Winter are now closed for the Summer and then will face another Winter!!They pay their licences to the CRT and purchase fuel. The CRT maintains the waterways but can the hire companies pay the licences next year. Less and less ships are arriving at our ports meaning less and less lorries to carry the containers and freight. What chance if you run a pub or a restaurant. The dentist is closed, the doctors are fully booked for weeks and the government is actively telling people to avoid the public transport. Even the county line drug dealers are finding it hard. The only good news is this weekend we can all drive to the beach. Take a flask of coffee because all the cafe's and amusements arcades are shut!! Oh and it is freezing. I know I am there!!

I am sitting on my hands. I intended to start re building a holding but watching the way the move out of lockdown is being handled I have decided to wait. There really is no joined up thinking with in the UK. People's urge to start earning again is such that they have ignored the simple fact. No vaccine and so no means to resolve the pandemic....Where I am it it is very quiet but that may be the weather. Gale force 8 !!

If I was running these cruise petri dishes I would be looking to carry passengers across the Atlantic. Stripped down they could compete with the airlines and there will be plenty of peeps who would prefer a few days on deck than sitting in an aircraft..
