David, i am not trying to argue that various different professionals (e.g. analysts) in the financial community are ‘useful’, or not —- it’s simply about people with money trying to make even more money, rather than social utility, benefit, philanthropy or whatever, and certainly not about ‘satisfying a need’.

(or if one thinks of money as a kind of meme, it’s just about money using human social structures to replicate and reproduce itself, irregardless of benefit/detriment to the human hosts/substrate that is being exploited/utilised.)

Re 13:58, buffet notes that someone who is overall still a net buyer should hope for the price to fall, even if they already have some holding, whereas a net seller should be hoping for s/price rise. (since the s/p rising and falling does not, by and large, make much difference to the underlying value of the business).

my guess is that the stream of updates has been targeted specifically for consumption by a relatively small number of individual pis who stupidly remained willing to keep coughing up cash way longer than most others —- but as that small number slowly, slowly dwindles away so that almost nobody at all is left who still believes amit enough to pony up yet more 5 figure money, it’s simply no longer worth his while bothering to put out more garbage.
