Hi All. Some gobbledegook talk from the Fed about possible rate cuts sends world markets into confusion. What most fail to understand is the bond market sets real rates not some goon in an office. What is needed is a rate increase to tackle inflation. Higher inflation is coming on strong and QE, by many different names, is ramping up.

Real assets are starting a bull with folks around the globe realizing the game with paper is coming to an end. The paper game has not ended but the start of the ending is happening now.

Talk of a BRICS gold backed currency is now a very long way off because the countries involved could not come to an agreement. The talk of a gold backed digital currency is gaining traction.

Rerating the POG is just an accounting play and will not elleviate the problems of massive, impossible to repay, debt. The POG will be rerated by physical demand.

Gold miners have been an unloved asset but has been attracting interest from big players. The reason is not because they like mining but know the POG is headed much higher. ATB Speedy

Hi Howzap. A very good post and it has put the topic to bed, or has it. We will know soon enough if the new finds at Telfer are a second Hav. If they are Telfer will be running full pelt on both trains with its own ore. Then what happens to ore from Hav and other nearology plays. What a wonderful problem to have. ATB Speedy

Hi droverman. I get that but Hav life of mine is expected to exceed 30yrs. Running Telfer from Telfer ore at 20mt/yr is as good as it gets and then build a smaller plant at Hav. It all depends what is proved up at Telfer. ATB Speedy

Name plate capacity for the Telfer plant is 20mt/yr. If the finds at Telfer exceed this parameter would it not make financial sense to build another smaller train at Telfer or at Hav. Bamps has said the extra tailings at Telfer would be a problem, is that also the case if a plant was built at Hav?

I just think it is a bit strange running a plant at below capacity. ATB Speedy

Hi All. The banks still have control over the POG just a quick look at the 6 mth chart shows 5 attempts to break $3400/oz have all been pushed back. They are now at record levels on the short side. When it breaks it should be spectacular. ATB Speedy

Hi All. UK inflation levels are getting scary. BoE drops rates but bond investors are demanding higher returns. Not sure how long the BoE can keep up this charade.

Fixed, short term, loans are a good bet right now as the effect of inflation reduces the payback. With 2 /5 year( interest only) loans at under 4% and inflation headed to over 4% it is almost free money.

Using equity in your house for consumption is not good but using it for investment (in todays environment) makes perfect sense.

Wonder what £100ks worth of gold Britts will be worth in 5 years? Not investment advice. ATB Speedy

Hi Zoros. Many thanks for your road map. We have a lot of things to look forward to. For me its first gold at Hav end 2027 early 2028.

With world debt going bananas and govs around the globe debasing their currencies at an alarming rate inflation is almost guaranteed to go ballistic and so is the cost of getting gold out of the ground.

The POG increase is net zero when that increase is due to inflation. The good news is that demand for a safe haven will drive up that increase above the inflation rate. Add to that the end of the price suppression by western banks enabling market forces to establish true value.

POG by 2028 should be far in excess of the inflation effect, the question is "by how much"

With our BODs keeping a control of costs and designing efficient mines (Telfer and Hav) the profit margins will be very healthy. ATB Speedy

Hi Lossie. Silver is extremely volatile and mining is one of the riskiest investments around. A combination of both is scary. About the safest way to get exposure to silver miners is SILG. Priced in £s, liquid and spreads the mining risk with a holding of the best silver miners. ATB Speedy

Hi NO8s. Buying physical metals is a safer way than holding in an ETF but storing your metal "under the bed " is not a good idea, many know you have it, the delivery man, the insurance clerk your dealer plus close "friends and family" . I always store at place of purchase. This continues the "good delivery status" and costs, storage and insurance, are less than home insurance. Not sure who you refer to as taking weeks for deliver to sell. I can have funds in the bank in mins with just a phone call to my dealer. I have no problem holding a few £ks worth at home but the vast majority should be stored safely. ATB Speedy

Hi No8s. Very good advice. My silver holdings are in silver Britts held in a bonded store. No VAT No CGT. Less than 1pc charge for ins and storage.

As. Word of caution, silver is as volatile as it gets and is not for the faint hearted. AT B Speedy

Hi Sageman. Since inception DFNS has not kept up with gold. Apart from that it carries the highest risk factor there is. On the other hand gold is probably the safest and most liquid asset in the world. You really cannot compare the two assets.

If you call educating folks about the benefit of owning physical gold "an embarrassment" maybe that is because you already know that it is currently the best asst to own but many folks here do not.

Common sense tells me to own gold and ignore all short term fads. Apart from a small pot to have fun and not take it seriously.

I wish you well in your investments but in the meantime i will keep on pushing gold until events tell me to change tack, and that is not in the forseeable future. ATB Speedy
