Hi All. It makes no sense to hold physical gold in a SIPP. When you cash in the tax man will want his piece of the pie. Much better to buy Gold Britannias/ Sovereigns and store them in a vault at the place of purchase. No VAT, No CGT, when the POG doubles (and it will) the rise is all yours. Hi Imp. A bit further south(1000KMs) and you would be in the paradise that is Tenerife. I love the UK in the summer but spend my winters on that beautiful isle. I only have to look at a fridge and my fingers go blue and mainland Spain and France are too cold in the winter for me. Hi All. The big banks (JPM etc) have been run by the mob for years, the Fed is also in their grip so are the regulators. The POG/S has been suppressed by the banks and the fed to make the $ look good. As you know this is done by playing with paper gold not physical. For thousands of years gold has been a store of wealth and a medium of exchange, it is only since the formation of the Fed that the price has been played with. The banks are being overwhelmed by physical purchases and they are now in a hole for $40billion and because of this manipulation Gold is now an investment for capital appreciation as well as a store of wealth. When the manipulation ends and it will end the POG/S will rerate to its true value at levels that will amaze. The lawyers are looking at this manipulation and are considering a class action against the banks to compensate investors for their losses. ATB Speedy
